Over the weekend, Rockhampton become a hub for regional healthcare collaboration. 🩺

The 2026 Central Queensland GP Conference brought together around 130 GPs, nurses and practice managers for two days focused on strengthening primary healthcare across the region.

The conference was delivered in collaboration with Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton, Hillcrest Rockhampton Private Hospital, Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service, Country to Coast QLD and PHN Central Qld.

It was a great networking opportunity for health professionals across Rockhampton, and we hope all involved got something useful out of it.

Over the weekend, Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton laced up and took part in the 2026 Yeppoon Running Festival! 🏃‍➡️🏃‍♀️‍➡️

A number of staff and specialists competed in events over the course of the weekend, and the Mater Emergency team were waiting at the finish line to hand out fruit, water, and information on our private Emergency Care Centre.

Congratulations to Mater General and Infectious Diseases Physician Dr Clinton Colaco who completed the half marathon! 🏅
