Sometimes we put WAY too much energy into the things we think people are lying about.
We replay the conversation.
We analyse their words.
We notice the little things that don't add up.
And suddenly we've created an entire story in our heads.
And maybe we're right.
But maybe we're not.
Especially when we're tired, anxious, angry, ashamed, exhausted, on edge or completely dysregulated.
Our brains are very good at filling in the gaps when we're already feeling unsafe.
And the story we create can feel like FACT.
But a feeling isn't always a fact.
A suspicion isn't always proof.
And our conclusion doesn't always contain the whole truth.
You might have noticed something.
You might even be right about it.
But you might also be missing a piece of the story.
And someone not telling you everything doesn't automatically make them a bad person.
Maybe it's not yours to know.
Maybe they're not ready to tell you.
Maybe they're working through something themselves.
That doesn't mean you ignore your intuition or let people treat you badly.
It just means you don't have to turn every suspicion into a conclusion.
You can notice something without immediately deciding what it means.
You can protect yourself without creating a whole story.
You can pause.
And sometimes...
"I don't know yet."
is a perfectly good answer.
Not everything needs to be solved today.
