Most community services are built around eligibility.

You have to be struggling enough, or funded enough, to get through the door. That does something to a person before they have even sat down.

We are building the other thing. Not a program people are placed into — something people reach for themselves. Nobody has to prove need first. Nobody is assessed before they are allowed to ask.

We still deliver real services: counselling, psychology and assessments, employment pathways, support work, mowing and cleaning. What is different is the posture underneath them.

A park assumes you belong there already.

None of it is a trial, a teaser, or a first month. It's free the way a park bench is free.

Money pays for the park to exist. It doesn't decide what happens inside it.

Friday question, and it's the one that trips people up at report time.

What did your kid learn this week that was nowhere near the plan?

The bird they wouldn't stop asking about. The thing they worked out at the shops. The argument over whether the recipe would double properly.

That isn't off-task. That's the best evidence the week produced, and most parents throw it away because it doesn't look like schoolwork on paper.

Write one line about it before you forget it. Put the date on it. That's the whole trick.

Nobody should have to buy an interview shirt to get an interview.

Employment pathways at ParkSyde is confidence, skills and a supported path toward work — tailored to where you are and where you'd like to get to, and walked with you at your own pace by people who back you.

You don't need a plan, a tidy story, or a reason that sounds good out loud. Turning up without one of those isn't a worse way to begin. A long gap on a résumé isn't a thing you have to explain before anyone will talk to you.

Tell us where you are now and where you'd like to get to. "I don't know yet" is a real answer to the second half — working it out can be the thing, rather than the thing you need first.

The pace is yours, and you're never committing to a plan by having a chat. If we're not the right help, we'll say so and try to point you somewhere that is.
