As women, we are always so busy looking after everyone else, so this week we want to look after you. Come along for health information, wellbeing activities, self care tips, a good yarn and a chance to relex and recharge.

Mawarnkarra Health Service will be there alongside Binar Futures and other organisations, so come and have a yarn, take part in the activities, and enjoy a great day with family and friends.

There will be 12 fun and interactive health and wellbeing stations, free health checks, activities, giveaways, and opportunities to connect with local services.

PILBARA LEGENDS TOURNAMENT

Binar Futures is pleased to be delivering the Roebourne Health Embassy as part of the 2026 Pilbara Legends Tournament, in partnership with Mawarnkarra Health Service and a range of other key organisations.

The Health Embassy will bring together a range of health, wellbeing and community service providers, offering health information, health checks, activities (12 stations), and opportunities for community members to connect with local services in a fun and engaging environment alongside the tournament.

This event is open to all community members and all ages.
🏀 Participants who complete all 12 Health Embassy stations will receive a FREE basketball and t-shirt.

We encourage community members, families and service providers to come along and be part of the day.

The Mawarnkarra Environmental Health Team, in partnership with local stakeholders, will be in Roebourne from 15 to 18 June 2026, supporting families to create healthier, safer homes and living environments.
During our Healthy Home Visits, our team can assist with:

✅ Minor plumbing repairs
✅ Pest control support
✅ Health and hygiene packs and cleaning packs

🌿 Mabo Day – Wednesday 3 June 🌿

Today we honour Eddie Koiki Mabo, whose courage and determination changed the course of Australian history.

On this day in 1992, the High Court recognised that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have a long and continuing connection to Country — a truth that has always been known.

As an Aboriginal Medical Service, we take this time to reflect on the significance of this decision and the ongoing journey toward recognition, respect, and fairness for our communities

“Our land is our life.” Today, we remember. We honour. We continue the journey.

🌾 National Reconciliation Week 2026 🌾

This week, we come together to honour the strength, culture, and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

At our Aboriginal Medical Service, Reconciliation Week is more than a date on the calendar — it’s a reminder of our shared responsibility to build relationships grounded in respect, truth, and healing.

This year’s theme, “All In,” a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day. All In makes clear that reconciliation is not a spectator sport and that all of us must step away from the sidelines and take action to make change.

The theme also reminds us that reconciliation and advancing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ rights isn’t a passive activity, and it is not solely the responsibility of First Nations people, who have carried the weight of championing, explaining and acting for far too long.

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands we live and work on, and we pay our respects to Elders past and present. Their knowledge, leadership, and connection to Country continue to guide our work every day.
