My Whoop has delivered a bit of a reality check.

As I head into the launch of For The Long Run, I’ve been keeping a close eye on my WHOOP recovery data.

At a glance, things look okay.

Sleep is pretty good, recovery is consistent.

But when I dig deeper, my HRV has been steadily trending down over the last couple of months.

Which is a red flag on the stress front.

It’s a good reminder that how we’re performing and how we’re recovering aren’t always the same thing.

When life gets busy, I focus on a few simple things:
✔️ Daily brain breaks
✔️ Weekly yin yoga
✔️ Five minutes of breathwork before work

Nothing revolutionary. Just small habits that help me down regulate and prioritise my recovery.

This is the moment I realised I was experiencing extreme burnout.

I promised myself I would never let it get to this point again.

There were plenty of signs leading up to this day, but I chose to ignore them and plough ahead.

Left ignored, burnout will eventually catch up to you!
