By the end of next week, our latest art exhibit should be hung!

A huge thank you to Gippsland Art Gallery for hosting us for the third time.

Assist Gippsland runs a weekly Art Club on Wednesdays, and once a month Gippsland Art Gallery kindly hosts us for an art session at their facility. It is such an amazing service, and we are very grateful for their ongoing support.

What an incredible final day of our Melbourne Community Group STA 💙🏙️

Yesterday was Day 3 of our STA adventure and the group made the most of every moment, with more opportunities to explore new places, build confidence, and experience everything Melbourne has to offer.

The day started with a visit to ACMI, where participants enjoyed exploring the interactive exhibits and creative displays 🎮🎬 We then caught up with our Assist Sunday Group from Sale for an exciting afternoon at the Melbourne Aquarium 🐠🐧 There was so much to see and explore, and everyone loved discovering the amazing marine life and exhibits throughout the aquarium.

We also enjoyed a group lunch together at Southgate Food Court before heading back to our accommodation for our final night in Melbourne ❤️

Today our group are on their way home to Sale after an amazing weekend filled with new experiences, social connection, independence building, laughter, and memories that will last long after the trip has finished.

Our Community Group STAs are designed to provide meaningful community-based experiences while also giving carers a well-deserved break. They are a fantastic alternative to traditional facility-based respite, focusing on inclusion, adventure, confidence building, and real-life experiences in the community 🌏✨

If you or your loved one has STA/Respite funding and would like to learn more about our group adventures and upcoming trips, we’d love to hear from you

Day 2 of our Melbourne Community Group STA was one to remember! 🏙️✨

Yesterday the group explored the iconic Queen Victoria Market, taking in all the sights, sounds, and atmosphere while experiencing something new together. From browsing the market stalls to trying different foods and enjoying the busy city environment, it was a fantastic opportunity for social connection, confidence building, and creating new experiences. 🛍️🚋

The highlight of the day was definitely our bottomless brunch cruise along the Yarra River 🚤🥂 — plenty of laughs, sightseeing, and beautiful Melbourne views along the way.

We wrapped up a huge day with burgers, pizza, and good company at My Goodness on Lonsdale 🍔🍕❤️

These weekends are all about building independence, friendships, community participation, and making memories that last well beyond the trip itself.

Today we’re looking forward to meeting up with the Assist Sunday Group to explore the Melbourne Aquarium together

What an incredible start to our Melbourne Weekend Away! 🚆✨

Yesterday our Community Group Respite crew headed off on a big adventure to Melbourne. After a long trip down, we stopped for lunch before jumping on the train into the city — an experience that brought plenty of excitement, laughs, and new memories along the way. 🏙️

These weekends are about so much more than just giving carers a well-deserved break (although that’s incredibly important too ❤️). They’re about building community connections, encouraging social interaction, developing independence and life skills, and creating opportunities to experience new things in a safe and supportive environment.

Today the group is off to explore the iconic Queen Victoria Market before enjoying a bottomless brunch cruise along the Yarra River 🍔 🚤

Tomorrow we’ll be meeting up with our Sunday group from Sale for a fun day at the Melbourne Aquarium followed by lunch together 🐠🐧

We love seeing friendships grow, confidence build, and participants making the most of every opportunity. Stay tuned for more photos and updates from our weekend away! 📸
