Happy Friday - š¤ Fi
Today is day ONE of my cycle, and Iām honouring my body by slowing down.
As part of my first_moon_circles Facilitator Training, Iāve been learning more about the menstrual cycle and the unique phases we move through each month.
Even in my 40s, Iām still amazed by how much there is to learn about my body and the ways I can better support it.
For so many years, many of us were taught very little about our cycles beyond the basics. Yet our bodies are constantly communicating with us. When we learn to listen, respect, and work with our natural rhythms, it can transform the way we experience menstruation and our overall wellbeing.
Today, Iām choosing rest. A warm bath filled with salts and rose petals. A little less doing and a little more being. A quiet thank you to my body for all that it does.
One thing Iāve also learned is that menstrual shame still exists. This is something we need to change.
The purpose of First Moon Circles is to help young girls understand, celebrate, and feel empowered by their cycles from the very beginning. The more openly we talk about menstruation, the more we normalise it for future generations. Hence, this post. I canāt offer these circles without helping to change the narrative.
Iād love to knowāhow do you honour your cycle?
Do you slow down?
Take time out for yourself?
Eat nourishing foods?
Run a bath?
Listen to your favourite podcast?
Spend time in nature?
Scrap the run & offer your body a walk instead?
Letās share our wisdom and help create a culture where our cycles are spoken about with understanding, respect, and pride. ā¤ļø
