HARLEY Update:

CCL TPLO - Day 14 Post Surgery Recovery.

Harley is the biggest, happiest jelly bean I've met in a while. She would rather bound like a hopping kangaroo than walk quietly beside her Mumma Yvette.

We always have to have a lot of calm energy around little Miss Harley and she just loves to give kisses. Lots of them! ๐Ÿคฃ

Today Harley returned to orthopedic surgeon Dr David Lidbetter for followup assessment and stitches were removed. He was extremely impressed with Harley's progression to date.

The surgery wound has healed seamlessly and Harley is weight bearing well with good proprioception.

Dr David was more concerned about the advanced osteoarthritis in Harley hip joint than the long term recovery of her stifle.

That ok, we have many natural medicines and therapies to assist with maintaining quality of life to slow down, stop and even sometimes reverse this condition.

After all, we can't wait till Harley is off the leash and free to run her heart out jumping over waves at the beach and having the time of her life again.

Stay tuned for more updates on Harley's progression back to be her full self again. ๐Ÿซถ

RICKY Update: ๐Ÿค๐Ÿค๐Ÿค

Sadly today little Ricky gained his eternal wings and now soars high into the sky above.

We did the impossible. We bought his Dad Tony additional time to share together. His first sessions bought him a month and his next sessions bought them another quality week together.

This was precious time together. By giving Ricky more life force and quality time we were able to help his family to emotionally come to terms with this what was coming. ๐Ÿ˜”

Today the decision was made to let him rest. Ricky was ready but now his Dad was also ready with a brave and grateful heart.

Thank you Tony for entrusting us to make this very difficult time a little less stressful and although we were successful in granting you with time, no amount of time is ever long enough. We always want more.

Rest your paws Little Ricky ๐Ÿพ

Meet HARLEY:

8yo Kelpie F/S Full Cranial Cruciate Rupture with Advanced Chronic Osteoarthritis in Left Hind Leg.

After a recent CT to confirm why Harley was experiencing intermittent lameness; Harley was scheduled for CCL surgery with the ever brilliant orthopedic surgeon Dr David Lidbetter at Animal Orthopedic Specialists at Nth Parramatta.

Harley arrived the night before her surgery for a pre-surgery HBOT to flood her body with oxygen and prep for her surgery the following day.

HBOT acts as a form of "surgical pre-conditioning", by saturating the blood and tissues with 100% oxygen under high pressure, it creates an oxygen buffer before the body experiences the controlled trauma of surgery. It reduces swelling, reduces the risk of infection, especially when the bone is remodelled, preserves vulnerable tissue and pre-empts healing signalling.

Harley was then brought back the day after surgery to assist with post op recovery.

HBOT aids post-surgical recovery by flooding damaged tissues with 100% oxygen under pressure. This process accelerates healing, reduces inflammation and swelling, fights off infections, and stimulates the growth of new blood vessels for rapid healing minimising scarring and stimulates new bone growth.

As instructed by the surgeon, Harley's Mumma Yvette was guided to have bandaging removed at Day 3 post op and the wound looks absolutely sensational with minimal bruising.

As you can see in the video attached, Harley is using her leg well and taking gentle weight on Day 4 Post surgery. ๐Ÿซถ She will continue HBOT twice a week during the healing recovery phase.

HBOT rapidly reduces surgical bruising by saturating the blood plasma with pure oxygen under pressure. This floods damaged tissues with oxygen, accelerates the breakdown and reabsorption of trapped blood cells, and boosts the bodyโ€™s natural mechanisms to resolve discoloration.

The process achieves this through three primary functions:

Vasoconstriction & Edema Reduction
Lymphatic Drainage
Cellular Regeneration

We try our best to have patients begin HBOT sessions within 24 to 48 hours of their procedure to minimize downtime and accelerate healing.

This little girl is a "fireball" of energy and we can't wait to help her back to full recovery and healing of her surgery to get full speed back to life.

Meet RICKY:

16.5yo Maltese X with many health issues.

Ricky's Dad Tony reached out today distressed that his little mate may have reached his end.

He wasn't eating on his own and he was barely drinking much without support. He wasn't walking and was becoming very lifeless.

When our animals age it's always a fine line between providing them a quality of life that is comfortable or one that isn't.

Tony carried Ricky in on his bed wrapped in a big cosy blanket. He just lay on the blanket still and watched me move around the room not bothering to lift his head.

He was very flat and just so still. Tony indicated he hasn't been good the past few days and he and his wife were worried this could be the end for Ricky.

I offered Ricky some oralade and he perked up and drank on his own for me. I got him prepped and he headed into the chamber for a Sunday session.

Within 15-20 mins he was so much brighter.

After his chamber was completed I popped him down on the floor to see if he could walk on his own and as you will see in the video below, he did a great job and had improved out of sight. Much to the sincere relief of his Dad. ๐Ÿ’ž

I truly believe Hyperbaric would have definitely increased his appetite and indicated he would likely go home and eat his dinner for his Dad.

And like clock work, I later received a little video of Ricky smashing down his dinner with gusto and now that he was fully oxygenated, warm and with a full belly, he was off into a beautiful deep resting recovery sleep.

There is no better feeling than watching your beloved fur baby come back to life. ๐Ÿ™

SOOTHING... CALMING... RELAXING... HYPERBARIC ๐Ÿ’–

Today was a hectic day in clinic, we give each patient time to find their zen harmony while in treatment.

So many pet parents feel that their nervous or anxious dogs will not cope well in the chamber environment and feel they'd become more stressed and anxious.

This is not at all true!

As you can see by the pics attached below the dogs and cats really appreciate their sessions and cope and settle very well.

Every single one of them can't wait to get in here and they're sometimes even busting down our consult door to get in. The vibe here is harmonious and I'm sure the dogs & cats feel this energy when they arrive and during their stay. ๐Ÿซถ

I'm blown away when I randomly come across our name as an international recommendation. This definitely speaks volumes that we may be doing something helpful. ๐Ÿ™

๐Ÿค๐Ÿค๐Ÿค FAREWELL OSCAR ๐Ÿค๐Ÿค๐Ÿค

This is a bittersweet moment for me to hear this news today. I'm deeply saddened to hear Oscar gained his wings but I'm also feeling blessed he reached a grand old age of 18 years & 8 months. ๐Ÿซถ

It's a quiet moment for me to reflect when I first met little Oscar and his Mumma Grace well over a decade ago along with the other family dogs, Buddy & Freckle and the horses Benny, Brandy & Paris.

Grace and I worked super hard on all the furbabies to bring them to optimal health and offer them exceptional quality of life. As the years moved on, sadly so did each family member leaving little Oscar as the last man standing.

My heart is so full to know little Oscar aged exceptionally well and enjoyed the longevity of life which is denied to so many.

RIP little sweet Oscar. ๐Ÿค
