Independence looks different for everyone.

It is not about doing everything alone, and it is not about taking over either.

Good support means working with participants at whatever level they can do things for themselves, while being there to support them where they need help.

That can look different for each person, and that is exactly the point.

🌟A little look at what a Friday can look like for our Team Leaders at GDS. 🌟

Some of the day is spent together. Some of it is out on the road visiting participants. Some of it is planning, problem-solving, welcoming new team members, and making sure the week keeps moving. 🚗

No two days look exactly the same, but what matters to us stays the same.

Building a team that feels connected, supportive, and genuinely happy to be here, while staying focused on the people we support.

And of course, making time for birthday cake and a few laughs along the way matters too. 🎂

Last week, Kylie and Tash spent two days at the DSC NDIS Conference. 🌟

It was a great chance to step away from the day-to-day for a moment, listen, learn, and connect with others across the disability sector who care deeply about getting support right. 📖

These kinds of conversations matter to us. They remind us how important clear communication, consistency, and genuine care really are for the people we support and the families around them. 🌻

We came away with plenty to think about, and feeling even more committed to providing support that is respectful, purposeful, and grounded in what people actually need. 🌿

He cares about giving the best support he can, and that shows in how he turns up, how he works with participants, and how seriously he takes his role.

He is always looking at ways to grow, learn, and improve, because good support work is never about just filling time. It is about being purposeful, reliable, and working with people in a way that genuinely supports their goals. 🌿

Tash and Sam swapped the usual work day for pickleball at the NDIS Collab Cup yesterday. 🥒💚

There were plenty of laughs, some friendly competition, lots of great people form the NDIS space, and a very unexpected runner-up for best dressed result! 🏆

Honestly, we are still pretty happy with that! 😁

Such a fun event and a great chance to connect with others in the community. 🫶

Last week, Tash met a wonderful woman living with Aphasia who shared a very special idea. 💡

She handed Tash a rock she had decorated with and asked if it could be left somewhere in the community to help raise awareness.

We thought it was such a thoughtful idea, and a really special moment.
So this week, we are doing exactly that. 🌻

Good support is not just about being there.

It’s about working with pa rticipants in a way that supports their goals, routines, confidence, and day-to-day quality of life. 🏆

That might look different from person to person, but the principle stays the same.
Support should have purpose.
