✨ Sternotomy Scars: More Than Skin Deep ✨
An open-heart surgery leaves more than a line down the chest —
it leaves a story. A memory. A protective armour the body builds when the heart has been touched, repaired, opened.
But healing doesn’t end when the stitches do.
Over time these scars can tighten, pull, restrict the breath, limit shoulder movement… and quietly hold emotional weight.
Because when the heart has been cut open, the body remembers.
Scar therapy helps change that memory.
Softening.
Reconnecting.
Opening.
Allowing deeper breaths.
More freedom through the chest and shoulders.
And often — a surprising emotional release, like the body finally exhaling what it’s been guarding.
This beautiful 11-year-old sternotomy scar responded well with its first session. (This is a picture during the 2nd session)
Not erasing the story — just helping it settle back into the body with more ease.
Because sometimes, healing the scar is part of healing the heart. ❤️🩹
