Give yourself some love with a hug today πŸ©΅πŸ©·πŸ’›

You, Too, Deserve Your Own Love and Compassion

Before we can truly be present for others,
we must first learn how to be present for ourselves.
Before we can offer comfort,
we must allow ourselves to be comforted.

Before we can give love freely,
we must remember that we, too,
are worthy of receiving it.

So if life feels overwhelming, pause.
Let the world continue without you
for a little while.

You are not selfish for protecting your peace.
You are not weak for needing rest.
You are not wrong for choosing your wellbeing.

You are human.

And sometimes the most loving thing we can do,
for ourselves and for everyone we care about,
is to tend to what is hurting,
and remind ourselves that we deserve
the same love and compassion
we so freely give to others.

Speak gently to yourself
when you are tired.
Hold yourself softly
when you are hurting.

Give yourself permission
to simply be,
without rushing,
without striving,
without asking yourself
to be more than you can be today.

There is no shame in resting.
There is no weakness in needing tenderness.

There is no failure in choosing peace
over what continually drains your spirit.

Sometimes, healing is simply
sitting quietly with yourself
and saying:

I am here.
I see you.
You have carried enough for today.
You are allowed to rest.

Let yourself be still
without feeling guilty for it.

Let yourself receive
the love, patience, and kindness
you have spent so long giving away.

Because you are worthy
of your own tenderness, too.

In learning to care for yourself,
you discover something beautiful:

You were never asking for too much
when you needed love.

You were simply asking
for the same love
you had always been giving
to everyone else.

It’s been quite awhile since I have picked up my deck of tarot cards and sitting here tonight with this full moon, I thought it was timely to see what message the cards have.

The four of swords has presented, representing a sacred pause, somewhat perfect as we have gone into a sort of hibernation for winter. A time to allow ourselves to step back, to rest, to recover, to regain some mental clarity by creating some space for stillness and healing.

If you are experiencing stress, conflict heartbreak or burn out at the moment, then this card may be suggesting that you are needing to take a break for rest. Allowing yourself to acknowledge surrender and allowing oneself to simply process the emotions that has contributed to the turmoil.

Take care of yourself. Acknowledge the rest in slowing down, sleeping in, perhaps even just going to bed early. Perhaps a disconnection from social media., people or things that tend to take rather than give. Warm baths with magnesium meditation or even some yin yoga could also be some ways to introduce some calm, peace and inner reflection.

The current full moon that we have here in the southern hemisphere, is known as the Buck Moon and this moon represents growth, renewal, emotional insight and moving towards personal realignment.

So this moon also supports creating space for rest, setting intentions for long-term change, reconnecting to purpose and simply reflecting on what is outdated in your life.

So find yourself a nice quiet space in the next day or so, make a herbal tea, grab a warm blanket, journal and a pen and allow yourself to write, trusting what comes without overthinking to see what your learning, release and wisdom reveals.

Phew, how was that full moon!

If you are needing a little bit of self healing and clearing, the below guide might be helpful.

Use your essences, smudge, crystals or other to assist.

This can be done as often as you need, but particularly when you’re noticing heaviness, negativity, overly emotional or tired πŸ’—

What do you think? Our past can be part of how we show up or respond to things in current time. They can create our hamster wheel or cycles of response. With work, these can change. Free yourself from your younger self and create new and healthy ways to handle what life throws at you πŸ’«πŸŒŸ
