Can I tell you something that changed the way I think about my home?
That the clutter in our homes doesn’t just take up space, that it also takes up mental energy. Every pile of unfolded washing, every overflowing cupboard and every drawer you open and immediately close again.
Your nervous system sees all of it, and it stays on alert because of it.
This is why so many mums feel anxious, snappy or exhausted at home even when nothing is technically “wrong.” It’s not a you problem, it’s an environment problem.
I know for sure decluttering isn’t just about tidying, it’s one of the most powerful things you can do for your mental health. Not because your home needs to look a certain way, but because your nervous system needs and deserves to feel ease inside your own four walls.
I’m also not saying that you have to do it all at once. You just have to start with one space; one drawer, one cupboard. That’s it.
Because when you do, something shifts. Your shoulders drop and your mind feels clearer.
And then your home starts to feel like somewhere you can actually breathe again.
If you’re ready to work through your home space by space, without the overwhelm; The Calm Home guide walks you through every room using my START Method (as well as other methods). It’s designed for real homes, real lives and real nervous systems. Find it in my bio for $22.
