“Before MGTVY, I was stagnant with my exercise routine, only doing 1-2 gym sessions a week. I used my two jobs as an excuse not to exercise, which also led to under-eating and probably not choosing foods that fuelled my body well enough to give me the energy to exercise consistently.
I was also struggling with weight loss and used my PCOS as an excuse for why I couldn’t lose weight, rather than finding ways to minimise my symptoms while still working towards my goals.

Since starting MGTVY coaching, the way I feel in my own skin has completely transformed my confidence. Not only is my physical appearance changing into something I’m really proud of, but my cardiovascular fitness has improved dramatically too. Running over 5km was always a goal of mine, and losing weight alongside strength training has made me feel like I can truly achieve it.

One thing I didn’t expect was the level of support from the trainers. Whenever I was stuck on meal prep ideas, they provided amazing recipes that were healthier versions of foods I already enjoyed and that fit perfectly into my macros. I never felt restricted with my diet. I was shown how to fit things like wine into social outings and still enjoy chocolate over Easter while staying in a calorie deficit and making progress

I was hesitant to sign up at first, but after meeting the girls and feeling so supported in what can sometimes feel like an intimidating fitness environment, I can honestly say I would highly recommend MGTVY to anyone who asks about my experience.
I’m going to look and feel amazing in my wedding dress, and while I’m incredibly proud of myself for the work I’ve put in, I’m also so grateful for the team at MGTVY - especially my trainer, Ally. Girl, you kick my butt and give me hard truths when I need them, but every bit of it helps me build habits and confidence that I know I can continue long-term. These healthy habits are no longer a short-term goal - they’ve become a lifestyle ❤️”

When people talk about the “fat burning zone”, they’re talking about what fuel your body is using during exercise

In simple terms, at lower intensities your body uses a higher percentage of fat for energy

BUT just because you’re burning more fat during a workout doesn’t mean you’re losing more body fat in the day

Because your body is burning and storing fat all day long depending on your overall energy balance

So instead of worrying about whether you’re burning fat during your workout, strength train to build/maintain muscle mass, so cardio for your heart health/if you enjoy how it makes you feel, and focus on creating an energy deficit with your nutrition across the whole day/week to lose the fat

What your coach is too scared to tell you…

If you haven’t lost weight, your metabolism is probably not the reason you can’t lose weight

I know that’s not the answer most people want

But it’s actually really important

Because metabolic adaptation is real

Your body does reduce energy expenditure during prolonged dieting and after significant weight loss

The problem is people have taken that concept and applied it to situations where it doesn’t make sense

To put it simply:

Your body doesn’t decide to dramatically slow your metabolism before you’ve lost weight

It slows it in response to weight loss

Meaning if your weight has stayed relatively unchanged for years, there hasn’t been a large enough drop in body mass for metabolic adaptation to be the thing holding you back

Think about it logically

If your body weight has remained stable, that means on average, over time, the energy coming in is matching the energy coming out

Somewhere along the line, calories are balancing out

Usually through one of four things:

- You’re consuming more than you realise
- You’re moving less than you realise
- You’re creating a deficit during parts of the week and then unintentionally erasing it later

If your weight hasn’t changed, your problem isn’t metabolic damage - it’s inaccurate data

And if you’re looking for a coach who can accurately interpret that data, identify what’s actually holding you back, and communicate it in a way that helps you move forward without guilt, shame or all-or-nothing thinking, book a free consultation via the link in our bio today 🤝🏼
