Queensland is home to more than 500,000 people living with disability. A significant proportion of these individuals remain underserved by existing peer support networks and community infrastructure.

That’s why, for the past 7 years, TCCQ has provided a range of support services to improve the lives of residents on the Sunshine Coast. Through peer connection, life skills development, employment pathways and allied health support, we’ve helped place more than 400 people into impactful employment opportunities.

We are passionate about empowering our participants to become their own solution.

Independence is built through connection, peer networks and the confidence to advocate for yourself.

For the past 7 years, TCCQ has been doing exactly that, strengthening the Sunshine Coast community. Our focus is to deliver peer support, life skills development, self-advocacy education and employment pathways for people with disability who have historically faced the greatest barriers to participation.

As a part of Fedcap’s international network, our locally-proven model can continue to grow, now informed by an evidence-based programme design employed by more than 332,000 people annually.

We asked our Employ Me program participants a simple question: what do you wish employers knew about disabilities?

Their answers say it best. People with disabilities bring value, capability, perspective, and potential to the workplace. They can succeed, work independently, and make a real impact when given the chance.

Hear it directly from Employ Me participants!

Employ Me is our tailored employment program for people with disabilities who have high support needs. The results speak through the people in it.

And now, we are part of The Fedcap Group global network, which means the work happening here in Queensland is informed by workforce development expertise spanning three continents. The community focus stays the same. The tools behind it just got stronger.

✨ Community. Collaboration. Opportunity. ✨

Last week The Community Collective – Employ Me Stakeholder Forum was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when businesses come together to support meaningful employment pathways.

Thank you to Max’s Workplace at SRJ Walker Wayland - Sunshine Coast for hosting us, and to Katrina from SRJ Walker and Steve from Astute Financial for generously sharing the stories of their amazing employees — stories that truly highlighted the impact of inclusive employment.

A huge thank you to Yourbrandcrew for donating their time and talent to capture some incredible images on the night — we’re so grateful.

We’re excited to share a snippet of a video featuring some of our employees, speaking about why employment is important to them. Their voices say it best. (watch this space)

We also sincerely thank Cr Tim Burns for supporting us on the night, and to the many businesses who attended, collaborated, and have since opened their doors to our participants through workplace tours and job trials.

It was a fantastic night of connection, learning, and collaboration — and just the beginning of what we can achieve together.

Thank you to everyone who made the night such a success. 💛
