Sixty per cent of NDIS participants walk away from their plan review feeling more confused than when they arrived. That isn't a participant problem — it's a system problem.

Admin complexity, fragmented provider invoices, and budget trackers that don't talk to each other are the daily reality of plan management for thousands of Australian families.

The root cause is what the NDIA calls "low plan literacy" — not knowing which support sits in which category, or how much is left in any given line.

Layer in legacy spreadsheets running next to the new PACE platform, and the result is funding that simply doesn't get used.

Many participants tell us that plan reviews can feel overwhelming and difficult to interpret in practice.

With multiple supports, invoices, and funding categories running at the same time, it’s easy for budgets to feel unclear.

In Plan Management, we often see that the real challenge isn’t access to funding, but understanding how it is being used across different categories in real time.

This is where clear financial visibility matters.

At Senami, we focus on more than processing invoices. We provide:

• Monthly budget summaries in plain language

• Clear category-level tracking

• Regular funding health checks to help identify risks early

• A real point of contact for questions about spending and invoices

If your plan feels unclear or hard to track, you’re not alone.

Comment “PLAN” or contact us to arrange a budget check.

💙 Men's Health Week | 15–21 June💙

From 15–21 June, we recognise Men's Health Week, a time to raise awareness about the health and wellbeing of men and boys, with a particular focus on mental health.

At Senami, we are proud to work alongside many dedicated men who contribute to the care and support of our communities every day.

We also support many male clients whose wellbeing, independence, and quality of life are important to us.

This week is an opportunity to encourage all men—whether they are team members, clients, family members, or friends—to prioritise their mental health and seek support when needed.

Mental health is just as important as physical health. Taking small steps each day can make a meaningful difference:

✅ Stay connected with family and friends
✅ Be mindful and reframe negative thoughts
✅ Make time for activities you enjoy
✅ Prioritise sleep, exercise, and healthy habits
✅ Reach out for support when you need it

By checking in with ourselves and with one another, we can help break down stigma and create a culture where men feel comfortable talking about their mental health.

This Men's Health Week, let's support the men in our workplace, the men we care for, and the men in our lives to prioritise their wellbeing—because mental health matters.

🤝 The Power of Strategic Networking in a People-Centred Industry

As professionals working in a care and people-centred industry, building genuine relationships is just as important as delivering quality support. Strategic networking allows us to connect with like-minded professionals, share knowledge, and create opportunities that ultimately benefit the people and communities we serve.

Some key takeaways from a recent networking session included:

✨ Building stronger referral networks and community partnerships
✨ Learning from the experiences and insights of others
✨ Increasing visibility and credibility within the sector
✨ Accessing new opportunities for collaboration and growth
✨ Gaining fresh perspectives and innovative ideas
✨ Connecting with industry leaders and advocates

One of the most valuable reminders was that authentic connections often lead to meaningful outcomes. By sharing knowledge, supporting one another, and working collaboratively, we can strengthen our services and create even better experiences for our clients and participants.

Thanks to Cassie Day for delivering an amazing session.

What is one thing you have learned through networking that has helped you better support your clients or community?

🌟 Welcome to the Senami Team, Chloe! 🌟

Chloe's journey in the disability sector began as a Support Worker, where they discovered a passion for helping people achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives. This passion led them to progress into a Client Services role, supporting participants and their families to navigate services and access the right supports.

Inspired by the impact of this work, Chloe completed a Bachelor's degree in Community Services and has since stepped into a Support Coordinator role. Today, they continue to empower participants, build meaningful relationships, and help individuals access the services they need to increase their independence and achieve positive outcomes.

What she enjoys most about this field is building genuine connections and seeing the difference that quality, person-centred support can make in someone's confidence, independence, and overall wellbeing.

Outside of work, Chloe enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending Pilates classes, exploring new cafés and brunch spots, learning new skills, and meeting new people.

With a warm and approachable nature, Chloe is excited to continue building connections within the community and supporting participants on their journey toward achieving their goals. 💙

The petition has closed, but you can still have your say.

The NDIS helps many people access the supports they need to live their lives, reach their goals, and be part of their community.

If you want to share your thoughts about the future of the NDIS, you can write to the people who represent you in Parliament.

Who can you contact?
✔ Your local Federal MP
✔ Senators in your State or Territory
✔ The Minister responsible for the NDIS

What can you say?

• Tell them who you are.
• Share why the NDIS is important to you.
• Explain how supports have made a difference in your life.
• Ask them to let you know their position on the NDIS Future Generations Bill 2026.

Find your representatives:

• Local MP: https://www.aph.gov.au/Senators_and_Members/Members

• Senators: https://www.aph.gov.au/Senators_and_Members/Senators

Every story matters. Every voice matters.

Finding the right support can change everything — not only for participants, but for their families too.

In Part 1/2 of this testimonial, a mother shares how her family was introduced to the NDIS and the decision to transition her son into independent living.

She reflects on the positive changes she has seen since receiving consistent, culturally aware, and compassionate support — including greater stability, safety, independence, and peace of mind for the whole family.
