We’ve been keeping a little secret…

Something new is happening behind the scenes, and we’re pretty excited about it.

We’re not quite ready to share all the details just yet, but here’s your first little clue.

A bigger space, more opportunities for supported employment, and something we think our community is going to love.

A big thank you to our building crew, who are currently working hard to bring it all together, and a special shoutout to Taylored Plumbing, who is now helping with the final touches.

What is SLES?

School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) is designed to help young people prepare for life after school and take their next steps towards the future.

SLES provides opportunities to build practical skills, confidence and independence while exploring career interests and developing the skills needed to move towards employment.

At Macleay Options, SLES combines practical activities, workplace preparation and real-world experiences to help young people discover their strengths, build confidence and work towards their individual goals.

SLES can support you to:

• Explore Your Future – discover your interests, strengths and career goals while exploring different pathways into work.

• Get Work Ready – build workplace skills, create a resume, prepare for interviews and gain an understanding of workplace expectations.

• Build Everyday Skills – develop practical skills such as cooking, meal planning, budgeting, banking, personal presentation and transport.

• Gain Confidence & Independence – strengthen communication, decision-making and everyday skills while becoming more confident in new environments.

• Experience the Workplace – explore different work environments, gain practical experience and put your skills into action.

SLES is about building skills for the future, discovering what you’re capable of and taking steps towards your goals.

Oasis at Phoenix MO 🦋✨

Last week, our Oasis Program headed to Phoenix for their Thursday outing.

The group enjoyed an art class focused on colours and emotions, using different colours to explore and express feelings through art. It was a fun and creative session, with everyone enjoying the space and getting involved.

A big thank you to our amazing staff for supporting our participants and helping make the day a great one. We also thank Phoenix for welcoming our group and providing a great space for the activity. 💙

Claire travelled down to Campbelltown and came home with 3rd place in the Special Olympics State Bowling! 🥉🏆

Happy Monday! 🌟

Some lovely pics we received over the weekend of Gaylene and her support worker, Caitlin. They had a great time visiting Macleay Valley Farm, doing some op shopping, whale watching, playing at the park and enjoying lunch together.

Such lovely photos, and you can really see the beautiful connection and care between Gaylene and Caitlin. 💙

Jane and Belinda headed into town today and spent some time working on Jane’s supported independent living goals.

Jane chose a new pillow protector and a memory foam mattress topper for her bed, making her space even more comfortable and truly her own. ✨

It’s so wonderful to see Jane making her own choices, building independence and creating a home that feels just right for her.

BBQ Sizzle 🌭☀️

We had a great day bringing everyone together at our Harry Boyes site for a BBQ Sizzle!

The day was filled with good food, great conversations and plenty of laughs. It was lovely seeing everyone enjoying themselves and spending time together. ❤️
