A few more beautiful memories from The Red Ball! ❤️🥂

Such a wonderful night supporting the incredible work of the Daniel Morcombe Foundation, made even more special by sharing it with a fabulous group of women.

It was so lovely spending the evening with the girls from Gold Coast Face and Body and Maxwells Skin and Beauty. Amazing food, Ch*****ne, dancing and so many laughs!

A fantastic Gold Coast charity event for a very worthwhile cause. We're already looking forward to next year! ❤️

Have you ever heard of a fibroblast?

They're tiny cells found in the dermis, and they have a really important job!

Fibroblasts produce collagen, elastin and other components that help give our skin its structure, support, strength and elasticity.

As we age, fibroblasts become less active and the collagen in our skin gradually changes.

But here's the really interesting part!

Fibroblasts can respond to signals from their surrounding environment.

For example, when the skin goes through its natural healing process, fibroblasts become involved in producing and remodelling collagen.

And that's one of the biological processes involved in lots of different treatments. For example, like skin needling.

Pretty clever, isn't it?

What a night at The Red Ball!

GCNurseMon was very proud to host a table of 10 beautiful ladies in support of the Daniel Morcombe Foundation.

We had an absolute blast. Amazing food, beautiful wines and ch*****ne, a fantastic band and plenty of dancing and laughs with a gorgeous group of women.

Most importantly, it was wonderful to be part of an event supporting the incredible work of the Daniel Morcombe Foundation and the work they do to help keep children safe.

The verdict from our table was unanimous… This is officially becoming an annual GCNurseMon event!

Thank you to my wonderful ladies for making the night so much fun!

Still on my Collagen kick!
But collagen is only one part of the ageing process. Genetics, sun exposure, lifestyle and changes in the underlying facial structures all play a role.
So, what can we do to support our skin as we age?
Daily sun protection, appropriate (not always the most expensive) skincare, good nutrition and avoiding smoking are all important parts of maintaining skin health.

Just a thought for this evening…
As I was washing my face tonight and looking in the mirror I was having a few thoughts. Facial ageing is so much more than fine Lines and wrinkles.
As we age, our skin, facial fat, bone structure and underlying tissues naturally change. Collagen production also gradually declines, which can affect the firmness and elasticity of our skin.
For women, hormonal changes during menopause can contribute to further changes in skin hydration and texture.
Understanding these changes is an important part of understanding our skin and how it ages.
What I’ve been noticing more and more these days, is that it’s not just the skin on my face, it’s affecting my neck, my arms, my hands, the tops of my knees, just about everywhere.
So this is something I’m very interested in at the moment. If it’s something that interests you, or you would like to know more about the ageing process, then you can contact me and we can have a chat about the options. In the meantime, I think I’m gonna look into a bit more and I might do a few more posts about it.

My final day was a day at the spa (for research purposes of course) 😉
