Standing out the front of Gold Coast Face and Body Place always reminds me how special this little Southport institution truly is. Lisa and I are so proud to be part of one of the Gold Coast’s oldest continuously run beauty businesses, started by her mum when she was a young beautician. Our client community is a wonderful mix of familiar faces and new ones, with generations of women coming through the doors. Many of the mums who once brought their daughters are now watching those daughters bring their own. It is always lively, warm and full of laughter. We have built a space that is down to earth, trustworthy and never pushy. You will never be encouraged to have anything you don’t need or anything outside your budget. This is a safe, welcoming place for women and we are so proud of that. Pop in and say hi. You will always be welcome.

This is REAL and happened to my beautiful GCnurseMon! I know I’m always tanned but I ALWAYS ALWAYS Wear sunscreen and get very regular check ups or even hassle my doctor if something slightly weird pops up!! We were actually thinking this was a bad pimple on her face for a couple of weeks before Monica went to the doctor!! It’s a timely reminder… especially in this heatwave… to SLIP SLOP SLAP and be very aware of your skin and body ###

I wasn’t sure about sharing this.
But if it helps even one person take sun damage seriously, it’s worth it.

This is me after having a 'little' skin cancer removed from my nose. No makeup. No filter. Just the truth.

Please don’t worry, I was lucky. I found it early, I have a brilliant surgeon, and the scar will be minimal. But it’s a reminder: there is no such thing as a safe tan. Not from the beach, not from a solarium, not even from a “healthy glow.”

Sun damage isn’t just about aging. It’s about real risk. Please wear sunscreen. Please get your skin checked. And please know that beauty isn’t in perfection. It’s in honesty, care, and survival.
