Caryn Levick, ND. Nutritionist and Naturopath I’m a degree-qualified Clinical Nutritionist and Naturopath. Naturopathy can alleviate a wide range of conditions and is suitable for all ages.

With over 19 years experience, I specialise in complex, multi-system health conditions—helping patients uncover the root cause of their symptoms through a science-based, personalised approach. "My mission is to be an outstanding professional provider of Natural health improvement, and wellbeing programs that are effective, practical and supported by the best available scientific evidence." The inf

ormation and reference materials contained here are intended solely for the general information of the reader. It is not to be used for treatment purposes, but rather for discussion with the patient's own health care provider. The information presented here is not intended to diagnose health problems or to take the place of professional medical care. Nutritional Medicine provides a holistic outlook on how nutrition impacts health, the relationship between diet and disease, as well as a focused understanding of how nutritional, dietary and lifestyle factors impact ones wellbeing. Nutritional Medicine combines food as medicine traditions and dietary therapy with recent scientific advances in nutritional biochemistry and therapeutics. Caryn views food, diet and nutritional supplements from the perspective of their therapeutic potential. She provides dietary advice to her clients and prescribes nutritional supplements, to assist in the treatment of a broad range of health conditions. Caryn’s aim is to identify the cause of dysfunction, educate the patient and develop a treatment plan, to re-establish and maintain wellbeing. Naturopathy is a blend of natural therapies tested over time and supported by the best available scientific evidence. It does not just address symptoms or try to suppress them, but looks for the cause in order to resolve the imbalance. Naturopathic principles are based on treating each person as an individual and treating the whole person, not just the affected area. Sometimes this may mean relying on supplementation and herbal medicine for treatment, but we strive to use natural options that are the least invasive as the primary option. Some of the more common conditions which Caryn help with include fatigue, stress related ailments, digestive problems and hormonal imbalances. However, you do not need to be unwell to benefit from Naturopathy. Naturopathic treatments boost the body's natural healing potential, and preventing disease.

Absolutely buzzing after the Metagenics ANZ Natural Medicine Leaders Summit this weekend. ✨

There’s something incredibly energising about being in a room full of practitioners who are deeply committed to the future of healthcare — not just symptom management, but true preventative, personalised and integrative medicine.

The conversations this year were next level.

We’re entering a new era where longevity and healthy ageing are becoming central to clinical practice. And what’s exciting is that we now understand ageing isn’t simply “bad luck” or something fixed in our DNA. The science is showing us that biological ageing is dynamic, measurable, and heavily influenced by nutrition, lifestyle, environmental exposures, mitochondrial health, epigenetics and metabolic resilience.

The future of healthcare is no longer just about lifespan.
It’s about healthspan.

Some of the standout discussions included:
🧬 Biological age testing, genetics & personalised interventions with Dr Denise Furness
🧠 The rise of neurodivergent presentations in clinical practice — especially women navigating ADHD, burnout, hormones and nervous system dysregulation with Mariane Power
💪 The growing importance of muscle health and sarcopenia prevention as a longevity strategy with Anthony Villani
⚡ Mitochondrial function, neuroplasticity and cognitive resilience with Christabelle Yeoh
📈 Emerging shifts in Australia’s healthcare and wellness landscape with Sashi Anantham
🤝 And a powerful reminder from Anthony Laye that in an AI-driven world, human connection, trust and communication remain our greatest clinical tools.

What inspired me most was the shared understanding that healthcare must become more personalised, more collaborative and more human.

Patients are no longer looking for quick fixes.
They want answers.
They want practitioners who connect the dots.
They want to feel seen, heard and understood.
And honestly… that’s exactly the direction I believe healthcare should be moving in.

And to top off a fabulous event — dinner and dancing at Margaret. Neil Perry-inspired feasts, incredible conversations, and a room full of passionate practitioners celebrating the future of healthcare together. 💃✨
Safe to say I’m heading home with my cup full… and sore feet!! 😅👣

So grateful for the opportunity to learn from and connect with such a high calibre of professionals who are shaping the future of integrative and functional medicine. 💚

The future of healthcare is incredibly exciting — and we’re only just getting started.

It’s not always the food. It’s how your body is responding to it.

Many of the symptoms we see in clinic—bloating, fatigue, skin issues, headaches—aren’t random.
They’re often your body signalling that something isn’t being tolerated well.

But without the right testing, it’s guesswork.

Eliminating foods blindly can lead to unnecessary restriction…
while the real drivers remain unaddressed.

This is where targeted testing becomes valuable.

It allows us to:
→ Identify specific triggers your body is reacting to
→ Understand patterns behind ongoing symptoms
→ Support gut health, inflammation and immune response
→ Create a plan that’s personalised—not restrictive

Because the goal isn’t to cut everything out.
It’s to understand your body well enough to support it properly.

What does “evidence-based” actually mean in practice?

At Perpetual Wellbeing, it’s not a buzzword—it’s the foundation of how we approach your care.

We combine high-quality research with clinical experience and a deep understanding of the individual in front of us.
That means no guesswork, no trends for the sake of it—just targeted, personalised strategies grounded in what works.

→ The right testing, when it’s needed
→ Interventions supported by evidence, not opinion
→ Clear rationale behind every recommendation
→ Care that evolves as your body does

This is how we move beyond symptom management and towards measurable, meaningful progress.

A significant step forward in how we support patients using GLP-1 medications.

Caryn has officially completed the GLP-1 Optimizer™ Certification—adding a deeper level of clinical insight into the physiology, biochemistry and long-term management of these medications.

Because while GLP-1s can be powerful…
what determines your results is everything happening around them:

→ Preserving muscle mass
→ Supporting metabolic function
→ Preventing nutrient depletion
→ Navigating plateaus
→ Creating outcomes that actually last

This is where a more integrated, evidence-based approach makes the difference.

If you’re currently on a GLP-1—or considering one—this is the level of care and understanding you want guiding your treatment.

"Diabetes is the fastest-growing chronic condition in Australia.”

You’ve probably seen the headlines.

But let’s translate what that actually means for you.

👉 Nearly 1.3 million Australians are living with type 2 diabetes
👉 And another 500,000 are estimated to have it… and not even know yet

This isn’t just about blood sugar.

Type 2 diabetes doesn’t suddenly appear overnight.
It develops over years—quietly, underneath the surface.

Long before a diagnosis… there are early warning signs.

One of the biggest?
insulin resistance

This is where your cells stop responding properly to insulin—the hormone responsible for moving glucose into your cells for energy.

So your body compensates by producing more and more insulin…

And over time, that’s where we start to see:
• Energy crashes
• Weight gain (especially around the middle)
• Sugar cravings
• Brain fog
• Hormonal disruption

This is the window where things are still reversible.

But here’s the problem—most people aren’t being tested early enough.

A standard “normal” blood test doesn’t always pick this up.

That’s why we offer a Testing Guidance Consultation—to identify the right markers, ask the right questions, and detect insulin resistance before it progresses to something more serious.

Because we don’t want to wait for a diagnosis…
We want to understand what your body is doing now.

If this is something you’ve been wondering about, start here 👇

Have you ever had your insulin levels tested—not just glucose?

Perimenopause and post menopause aren’t just hormonal transitions —

they are structural.

This is the phase where we begin to see:

– Gradual loss of lean muscle mass
– Changes in strength and recovery
– Increased risk to bone integrity over time
– Shifts in how the body maintains stability and resilience

These changes often occur quietly and progressively — long before they’re obvious.
And they’re rarely captured by standard measurements.

Using advanced technology like the Tanita MC780 Body Composition Analyser, we assess:

– Lean muscle mass and distribution
– Cellular health (phase angle)
– Hydration status (critical for tissue function)

This gives a much clearer picture of what’s happening beneath the surface —
so we can support:

• Strength
• Structural health
• Long-term mobility

Because at this stage, the goal isn’t simply change —
it’s preservation and optimisation of what keeps you strong.

GLP-1 medications are powerful tools —
but without the right support, they’re often incomplete.

In clinic, we commonly see:
– Loss of lean muscle
– Plateaus despite adherence
– Uncertainty around what to do next
– Short-term results without long-term strategy

This is where structured, clinical guidance makes the difference.

At Perpetual Wellbeing, we specialise in supporting patients on GLP-1 therapies using:
– Body composition tracking
– Personalised nutrition and supplementation
– Ongoing metabolic support strategies

Including advanced assessment with tools like the Tanita MC780 Body Composition Analyser to ensure progress is measured, protected, and optimised.

Because the goal isn’t just weight loss —
it’s doing this in a way that supports your body long-term.

This has been a long time coming… and I’m genuinely excited to finally say I’ve started my GLP-1 Optimizer™ Certification.

Over the past 12+ months, I’ve been diving into the research, attending seminars, and watching this space evolve rapidly—because let’s be honest, GLP-1 medications (like Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro) are changing the metabolic health landscape in a big way.

But here’s the part that matters most to me as a clinician…

We can’t just focus on the drug.
We have to understand the person, the metabolism, and what’s happening underneath it all.

Because what I see in clinic is this:
→ Plateaus
→ Muscle loss
→ Nutrient depletion
→ Losing weight, but not necessarily improving metabolic health
→ Feeling unsure about how to maintain results long-term

And this is where we need a much more integrated, physiology-based approach.

This certification allows me to go even deeper into the biochemistry, so I can better support patients through this process—whether they’re on a GLP-1, considering one, or transitioning off.

It’s about going deeper into:
✔️ Metabolic pathways
✔️ Appetite regulation + satiety signalling
✔️ Preserving muscle + metabolic rate
✔️ How to support the body so results are sustainable—not temporary
✔️ And importantly… what needs to be in place before, during, and after using these medications

So I can continue doing what I do best—bringing the pieces together and building sustainable, personalised strategies around your health. It means we’re not just using the medication to force an outcome… We’re using it as one tool within a bigger, smarter strategy that supports your whole body.

If you’re currently on a GLP-1, considering one, or trying to transition off… this is a space I’m deeply invested in supporting properly.

And as always, if you’re needing personalised guidance—because your body is never “one-size-fits-all”—you can book in with me at our Kenmore clinic or Online via Telehealth.
