It seems running has become trendy lately..

We are seeing lots of bone stress related overuse injuries rolling into the clinic ๐Ÿฅฒ

Three factors that can really reduce your risk of stress fractures with running:

1. Training load: Your bones and tendons take longer to adapt to training stimulus than your cardiovascular system. Slow and steady always wins the race!

2. Under Fuelling: Nutrition plays a crucial role in recovery and making sure your tissues are restoring/adapting when youโ€™re resting.

3. Strength work is a must. We need adequate support and resilience in the muscles supporting these boney tissue otherwise joint/bone loading increases.

3. Early hands on therapy = Settled symptoms means earlier start on your rehab
3. Education & reassurance early in the injury phase will improve your confidence and get you quicker outcomes
