member of the Australasian College of Phlebology and has trained many doctors for the college. Janet Roberts is a qualified sonographer with experience in general and vascular sonography. Our Clinic was the first in Sydney to use the Cooltouch Laser for the closure of Greater and Short Sephenous Veins. We have performed thousands of Endovenous Lasers and Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy with a high rate of closure and a high patient Satisfaction. All our procedures are performed on a walk in, walk out basis with minimal impact on the patient's busy lives. Varicose veins are a very common issue affecting men and women. They can occur at any time, however, they are much more prevalent from middle age.

While the legs are the first thing most of us think of when we hear the term “varicose veins”, the condition can and does affect blood vessels in other areas of the body. It’s not uncommon for males to experience varicose veins in the sc***um. This is called a varicocele.

Varicose veins can occur anywhere in the body as a direct result of damage due to swelling and occurs due to increased venous blood pressure.

Surgical stripping of veins is now considered by many doctors to be a somewhat outdated practice, and wherever possible, it should be avoided in favour of less invasive treatment methods.

There are some equally effective but ultimately better treatment options that are suitable for a large number of patients.

Surgical stripping veins is not considered to be the best practice for a lot of patients and it should now only be used as a last resort.
