Exciting news for 2027!

I’m really excited to share that I’ve been accepted into the Graduate Diploma of Positive Psychology at CQ University, starting in 2027.

It feels like such a natural next step for me and for the work I do through Regain Balance - Counselling, Health & Wellbeing.

I’m especially interested in the PERMA approach to wellbeing: Positive emotions
Engagement
Relationships
Meaning
Accomplishment

It’s about looking beyond simply “what’s wrong” or what needs fixing, and instead exploring what helps us live well, feel connected, find meaning and build a life that feels worthwhile.

We all know that life can be challenging, and positive psychology is not about pathologising or pretending everything is okay. It’s about building wellbeing alongside working with those challenges.

I’m really looking forward to learning more about this modality and increasing this approach in my counselling work, which will continue to support the whole person, not just the presenting problem.

Here’s to learning, growth and a new chapter in the new year!

When we're feeling lonely, it's easy to assume we're alone in that experience.

But connection often grows through small, everyday interactions.

Checking in with an old friend, joining a group activity, helping someone out or simply starting a conversation can open the door to meaningful connection.

Stress, relationship difficulties, work pressures, financial strain, family challenges, grief, change or simply having too much on your plate can leave you feeling overwhelmed, powerless, scared and not quite like yourself.

Sometimes feeling anxious, down or depressed can be a response to what’s happening in our lives and is it not necessarily related to a mental health condition or illness.

Counselling can offer a warm, safe and confidential space to gently explore what’s happening, what might be contributing to how you’re feeling, and find practical ways to support you through the challenges you’re facing.

You don’t need to wait until things feel unbearable to ask for support. Reaching out for support can be a positive step that can help you make sense of things and relieve some pressure.

If you’d like to chat about whether counselling might be right for you, I offer a free 15-minute call on 0455 898 325 or for online bookings: www.regainbalance.com.au

Pelvic pain is more than a physical experience.

For many women, ongoing pelvic pain can affect sleep, relationships, confidence, work, movement, intimacy, and the way they feel about their own bodies. Living with this pain can also bring frustration, uncertainty, grief, fear, and exhaustion, along with the feeling that there is something “wrong” with you.

As a counsellor with an extensive background in women’s health nursing and chronic disease management, I offer a unique, whole-person perspective, with caring and confidential counselling support.

Rather than diagnosing or pathologising your experience, counselling can provide a safe space to:

- make sense of the physical condition and the emotional impact of living with pain
- explore coping strategies that fit your life and circumstances
- work with stress, worry, frustration, or loss of wellbeing
- reconnect with your needs, values, relationships and sense of self
- build confidence in communicating with healthcare professionals and allied health
- develop compassionate ways of responding to your body and your experiences

Importantly, this isn't about suggesting that pelvic pain is “all in your head.” Your pain is real, and your experience does matter.

Supporting mental and emotional wellbeing alongside the appropriate medical team can be an important part of living with persistent pelvic pain.
