Digging for light 🌟
From swinging clubs to swinging hammers, the journey’s been long, through rail and rigs, searching for where I belong. With every swing, a spark ignites, chasing shadows, digging for light.
Digging for light has always been the mission; it has always been the goal. It’s amazing to think we’re all out here digging up the earth’s resources for a crust, and on an individual level, we’re all digging for a sense of meaning, a sense of value.
We’ve been searching for gold in the shadows of the grind, but the brightest treasures are the ones we leave behind. In the depths of the earth, we find echoes of our fight, a spark within us waiting to ignite.
There’s gold in every soul, a treasure untold, digging deep, not just for gold, but for goals! From the coalface to a calm, brighter place, we’re mining the light in every space.
My journey began with rail and coal, from Queensland to WA, chasing a role. Seven years with BHP, I gave it my all, but losing a mate became my wake-up call. RUOK? sessions and campaigns I’d lead, travelling far to plant a vital seed. Through support and ownership, I found my way, and launched fifozero to light the day.
It’s been there the whole time, the answer, the key, a spark of life in this harsh iron ore spree. On paper, it’s billions, but what is the cost, when the air feels so thick, and the soul feels lost? The nights I don’t remember, they still linger here, a shadow within me, a voice I revere. Yet even in recklessness, the light never died, it lives within me, my compass, my guide.
I’ve seen the cost of silence, the toll it takes, a fragile foundation that cracks and breaks, but wisdom grows in the darkest of mines, where every fall teaches, and every climb refines. A commitment to change, to be bold, to be true, to unearth the potential in me and in you. For it’s not just the fortune we leave behind, but the legacy of light we choose to find.
Beneath the earth, we’ve chased the glow, but the brightest light is the one we grow. The treasures we seek are hidden in sight, not just in the ground—but within our light.
