I get asked a lot whether ovarian aging is just “in the cards” or if there’s anything to be done about it.

Turns out, quite a bit.

A recent review looked at what actually drives ovarian decline, and smoking, diet, inflammation and toxin exposure all showed up as real, modifiable factors.

None of it requires doing everything at once. Start with one thing. Quit smoking if you haven’t. Eat more colour. Swap out the plastic water bottle.

If you want a clearer picture of where your own hormone health sits, please reach out. I’d love to support you.

If you’ve had the IBS label for years and nothing’s changed, this is why ⤵

Syndrome is the key word there, not disease. A syndrome just means a cluster of symptoms that fit a certain criteria. It’s not telling you why your gut is doing what it’s doing.

So when someone gets told “you have IBS,” what’s actually happened is their symptoms matched a checklist. Bloating, altered bowel habits, abdominal pain, for a certain length of time. That’s it. Nothing has been explained. Nothing has been found. The label just describes what’s happening, not what’s causing it.

This is why I see so many clients who’ve had the IBS label for years and still feel stuck. They were handed a name for their symptoms, not a reason for them. And a name isn’t a treatment plan.

In consultation, I use IBS as a starting point, not an answer. From there we look for what’s driving it, because there usually is something. The things I’ve listed on this reel are the main culprits.

So, if you’ve been told ‘it’s just IBS’, I highly recommend investigating further and if you’d like me to help you, send me a DM. I offer free 15 Discovery Calls, with online and in person consultations available Remede Wellness Medicine

Menopause and perimenopause get treated like problems to solve. They’re not. They’re a normal life stage, and the goal isn’t to “fix” you.

What I can support you with, as a Naturopath is how you feel through it. Sleep, mood, energy, bone health, all of it responds to the right approach.

Swipe through for the basics I come back to again and again with my clients. None of this is about doing everything at once. Pick one thing from this list and start there.

And if you’re needing extra support, please reach out.

Bloating isn’t always a food problem.

Stressed, rushed, or eating at your desk? Your body deprioritises digestion when it thinks it’s under threat.

If you’ve already cut things out and you’re still bloated most days, it might be worth looking at how you’re eating, not just what.

Your gut and your brain are on the phone with each other constantly. And that phone line is called the vagus nerve which runs between the two.

It’s called the gut-brain axis and it’s why treating anxiety or low mood in isolation often falls flat. If someone’s gut lining is inflamed, if their microbiome is out of balance, if they’ve got chronic constipation or SIBO sitting underneath it all, the brain picks up on that 🔄

And vice versa. Chronic stress and anxiety slow digestion, change gut motility and shift the balance of bacteria living in there. So if you’re experiencing anxiety or mood changes that show up alongside bloating or an upset gut, one probably isn’t happening despite the other. They’re likely feeding each other.

This is why I don’t just ask about mood when someone comes in with anxiety. I want to know about bowel habits, bloating patterns, what happens after meals. The two systems are too connected to look at separately.

Some starting points that make a real difference:

🍓 Eating slowly and chewing properly (digestion starts before food even hits your stomach)
🍊 Fibre diversity, not just fibre quantity
🥝 Managing stress, because cortisol directly affects gut motility and microbiome balance

Do you notice these connections in your daily life?

Spring is in the air and I am loving the warmer days and getting to the beach more often.

Spring also makes everyone want to detox. And it makes sense, it does feel like a good time to clean things up after winter.

But to do this, you don’t need to fast or juice cleanse or buy that superfood powder or detox drink. Instead, try this:

🥚 Eat breakfast with some protein in it, not just toast
💦 Drink enough water with a pinch of celtic sea salt
🌅 Get outside first thing in the morning and try to catch the sunset too
😴 Go to bed half an hour earlier than you think you need to
🥝 Include more seasonal fruit and veggies into your diet

Boring, I know. Doesn’t come in a pretty bottle either. But it’s what most bodies are asking for after winter.

This is the whole point of a consultation, in my mind. Not to hand someone a plan and see them back every few weeks indefinitely. It’s to teach them what their symptoms actually mean, so they can read their own body long after they’ve stopped seeing me. 🍃💚

Feeling wired, foggy, or just “on” all day? You don’t need an hour to switch off your stress response. Just five minutes and a bit of intention can do wonders!

These are some of my go-to’s that I use and recommend to my clients. Having a few options is great as you can pick whichever one fits the moment you’re in.

Let me know which one you’re going to try first 🙂
