Every drop counts. ❤️

On World Blood Donor Day, we celebrate and thank the incredible donors whose generosity gives others a second chance at life. One donation can help save multiple lives and bring hope to families in their most difficult moments.

If you’re able, consider becoming a blood donor. Your simple act of kindness could make all the difference.

Thank you to all the lifesavers who roll up their sleeves to help others. 🩸

📱 Important SMS Update from Vineyard Medical Centre

From 1 July 2026, new national requirements will apply to SMS Sender IDs, also known as alpha tags.

A Sender ID is the name that appears at the top of a text message instead of a phone number — for example, a business or organisation name.

These changes are being introduced to help reduce SMS scams and make it easier for people to identify whether a message is from a verified sender.

From 1 July 2026:

✅ Registered Sender IDs will appear as branded text messages
⚠️ Unregistered Sender IDs may appear as “unverified”
📩 Unverified messages may be grouped together on your phone, helping identify possible scam messages

For Vineyard Medical Centre, our SMS Sender IDs will display as:

• VineyardMC for Best Practice messages
• VineyardMed for BetterConsult messages
• HotDoc for HotDoc messages, including recalls, results and payments

Please continue to be cautious with any unexpected SMS messages. If you are ever unsure whether a message is genuinely from us, please contact the clinic directly before clicking any links or providing personal information.

Thank you,
Vineyard Medical Centre

Today, on World First Responder Day, we honor the brave men and women who run toward danger when others are told to run away.

Thank you to every paramedic, firefighter, police officer, emergency dispatcher, nurse, doctor, and rescue worker who shows courage, compassion, and strength every single day. Your dedication saves lives, comforts families, and keeps our communities safe.

We see your sacrifice. We appreciate your service. And we are deeply grateful for all that you do. ❤️

🖤 Men’s Health Week | 9–15 June 🖤
This Men’s Health Week, we encourage all men to take a moment to prioritise their health and wellbeing — both physically and mentally.
Regular check-ups and early intervention can make a significant difference in preventing and managing health conditions. Whether it’s booking a routine health assessment, checking in on your mental health, improving your diet, staying active, or simply having a conversation with someone you trust, every small step matters.
Common areas men often overlook include:✔️ Heart health✔️ Mental health✔️ Diabetes screening✔️ Blood pressure and cholesterol checks✔️ Prostate and bowel health
Looking after your health is not a sign of weakness — it’s one of the strongest things you can do.
If you have any health concerns or are due for a check-up, please book an appointment with your treating practitioner.
💙 Your health matters.

📢 Changes to Medicare Assignment of Benefit (AoB) from 1 July 2026
From 1 July 2026, patients will be able to provide their Medicare Assignment of Benefit consent digitally via a secure SMS link, making the bulk billing process quicker and more convenient. Paper forms will still be available for those who prefer to sign in person. Our system will be set up to SMS you as its main preference, if you wish to receive a paper copy, please advise reception prior to billing.

⚠️ Important: If a patient receives a bulk-billed service but does not provide the required Assignment of Benefit consent (either digitally or via a paper form), a private account will be issued and full payment will be required. Once a private account has been generated, it cannot be reversed and the service cannot be changed back to bulk billing.

These updates are designed to streamline healthcare administration, reduce paperwork, and improve the patient experience.

For more information, speak with our team or visit the Australian Government Department of Health website.
