Omnia Community Health

Omnia Community Health We are a not-for-profit, values-based organisation, established in 2026 through the merger of Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health and Nexus Primary Health.

We cover the Hume, Macedon Ranges, Mitchell, Murrindindi and Strathbogie local government areas. Omnia Community Health is a not-for-profit community health organisation, providing a range of services in the Hume, Macedon Ranges, Mitchell, Murrindindi and Strathbogie local government areas. We care about the health of our community as an entire population. We are concerned not just about ill-healt

h and treatment of disease, but about the factors that actually predict whether someone is healthy, like strong families, social cohesion and mental health, as well as the prevalence of risks such as obesity, tobacco, alcohol and drug use, family violence, problem gambling, and vulnerabilities that come from low incomes or ageing. Thanks to the Zonta Club of Kyneton for inviting us to their changeover dinner to swear in the new President and committee. It was inspiring to be in a room filled with strong, motivated women who are donating their time and expertise for the advancement of local women and girls. There were many familiar faces in the room, including one current and two of our former Board Directors. We look forward to strengthening our relationship over the coming year.

Mabo Day is held on 3 June each year. It honours Eddie Koiki Mabo and the landmark High Court decision that rejected terra nullius—the false idea that Australia was land belonging to no one. This important decision recognised Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ connection to Country and helped pave the way for native title.

Koorie Heritage Trust Inc and the City of Melbourne are hosting a free event at the The Edge Auditoriumm, Fed Square on Wednesday 3 June celebrating the legacy of Eddie Mabo. Registration is free, but required - visit Koorie Heritage Trust Inc.

This is a great opportunity to celebrate the strength, wisdom and resilience of First Nation’s peoples. Performers include Leon Filewood, Kee’ahn, Jessie Lloyd and Randals Dad.
