Food rules can often be disguised as āpreferencesā or ājust focusing on health a little bit moreā. However this can often be a slippery slope to go down.
Even if you have challenged some of your biggest food rules, it can be really common for some other rules to emerge or re-emerge.
This isnāt a sign that you are going backwards, instead it can sometimes be a response to losing some elements of control that you once had surrounding foodā.
Especially when we are constantly surrounded by a lot of messaging, information and diet culture- it is expected that we may begin adopting some of these
āfood rulesā or ādisordered patternsā overtime, even if we donāt mean to.
Because if your eating comes with conditions, negotiations, or quiet rules... it might not be as supportive as you think. If you are met with distress/anxiety, it might be worth working with a team of support who can assist you in this space.
