FAQ Friday: Don't lose your aged care funding!

Did you know your quarterly rollover under Support at Home is capped?

Here's the rule:
- You can carry over $1,000 OR 10% of your quarterly budget — whichever is GREATER
- Anything above that goes back to the government

Example: $6,000 budget, only spend $4,500 — you keep $1,000, not $1,500.

Our tip: check your portal balance 4 to 6 weeks before each quarter ends. Book a physio session, extra cleaning, or that piece of equipment you've been putting off.

From 1 October 2026, you will no longer pay out-of-pocket for showering, dressing or continence care under Support at Home.

The government has reclassified personal care as Clinical Care — meaning it's fully funded.

What's covered from 1 Oct 2026:
- Showering and bathing
- Dressing and grooming
- Continence support
- Toileting assistance

Make sure personal care is in your current support plan. Your care partner can update it if needed.
