Sunshine Coast Independent Living Service is a well-established Sunshine Coast based not-for-profit organisation and charity, that has been supporting people with disabilities since 1989. Clients may access services in their own home, on site in our purpose built facilities, or in the community.SCILS offers a wide array of personal development skills to adults with intellectual disabilities to eff

ectively educate and prepare them for independent life including money handling, and budgeting, shopping and cooking, cleaning and maintenance, personal training and utilizing public transport. SCILS programs include In Home and Accommodation Support and Community Access programs, Recreational and Activity programs, and Social Groups. The objectives of the SCILS’ programs are to:

• provide opportunities for people with a disability to develop skills, pursue interests and broaden their relationships.

• provide opportunities for people with a disability to make a visible and valued contribution to community activities

• promote inclusive practices

Nambour Show Day is always a favourite outing for our clients! 🎡🎠🎯

Every year, our clients look forward to spending the day enjoying all the fun that the show has to offer. From exciting rides and classic sideshow games to delicious show treats, there’s plenty of laughter, excitement, and memorable moments to be shared.

It’s a fantastic opportunity to get out in the community, try new experiences, and enjoy a day filled with fun and connection. Seeing our clients light up as they explore the showgrounds, challenge themselves on the rides, and enjoy their favourite treats is what makes days like these so special.

🎡🌟 Happy Nambour Show Day! 🌟🎡

Our office will be closed on Thursday, 12th of June for the Nambour Show Day, public holiday.

The good news is that all scheduled supports and services will continue as normal, so there will be no interruption to client supports.

Our team will return to the office on Monday, 15th of June and will respond to any enquiries as soon as possible.

As always, our after-hours emergency phone will remain available for current clients and staff should any urgent matters arise.

We hope everyone enjoys the festivities, has a wonderful day with family and friends, and makes the most of this special local event! 🎠🎪✨

🎵💃 What a fantastic Tuesday at our Music & Movement Group! 🕺🎶

A huge thank you to the incredibly talented Paul Vercoe Music for another wonderful performance. Our participants always look forward to Tuesdays, where they can come together to enjoy great music, sing along to their favourite songs, dance with friends, and share plenty of smiles and laughter.

Music has a special way of bringing people together, and yesterday was no exception. The room was filled with energy, joy, and community spirit as everyone got involved and had a great time.

A special thank you also goes to our amazing support staff, who consistently go above and beyond to make each session enjoyable, engaging, and memorable for everyone.

Sunshine Coast Independent Living Services (SCILS) is growing in 2026 and inviting passionate Support Workers to join us in casual roles across the Sunshine Coast. Whether you want to broaden your experience, work with a variety of clients, or find a role that fits your lifestyle, SCILS offers a rewarding and flexible environment to do just that.

We respect your time
-Competitive pay rates in line with the SCHADS Award, including penalty rates for evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts
-Flexible scheduling to fit your availability wherever possible
-A supportive and friendly team environment

What You’ll Need
-Certificate III in Individual Support, Community Services, Aged Care, or related field
-Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Blue Card
-Queensland Driver’s Licence and reliable, insured vehicle
-Current First Aid and CPR certifications
-Previous experience in disability or community services is highly regarded, but transferable skills are welcome

The Masters group enjoyed a fun day out at the clubhouse in Maroochydore, coming together for a relaxed and enjoyable afternoon of darts and friendly competition.

It was a great setting for everyone to unwind, share a few laughs, and enjoy some light-hearted rivalry away from the usual routine. The atmosphere was welcoming and social, making it a really enjoyable group outing for all involved.

A big thank you to everyone who joined in and helped make it a great day. Looking forward to the next get-together.
