Susan had been going through very stressful times and had lost her spark as a result.

After a few sessions she felt she had learnt a lot about herself and was able to make some very positive changes that helped her to feel happy again.

That’s why I do what I do, empowering people to use what they already have to give them their life back.

ways to create space for yourself

Clear one thing from your week that’s a non-essential obligation.

Unplug Yourself – Disable any notifications from apps that are not essential such as social media, chats etc.

Say “Let me check and get back to you”’ instead of an automatic yes

Put one thing back into your calendar this week that’s just for you, even if it is just a 20min walk in nature

And why is it so important to create space for yourself? Remember the airline safety announcement in case of an emergency? First put on your own oxygen mask before attending to anybody else. Unfortunately in day to day life we often forget to look after our own wellbeing to make sure that all other obligations taken care of. Creating space for yourself is simply helping you to look after your own needs to allow you to be in much better shape to deal with the demands of your everyday life ❤️

Anxiety doesn't stay where you put it.

It show up as a short temper with your kids, a tight jaw at dinner, a gut that won't settle before a hard conversation. All because your nervous system doesn't switch off.

Regulate the nervous system and anxiety stops leaking into everything else.

3 things to do straight after you snap at someone you love

1. Repair before you explain. “I’m sorry that wasn’t about you”. This works much better than a reason

2. Take a deep breath and exhale through your mouth. You’re regulating yourself, not just apologising

3. Let go of the guilt spiral. One rough remark doesn’t undo everything else you do for them.

The snap isn’t the problem. It’s a signal that your nervous system needs some rest.

Save this for next time

Priya came to see me during a very busy and stressful period of her life.

We worked on releasing some of what was driving the stress and I gave her a few fast and simple relaxation techniques she could use daily.

Priya started using them straight away and her nervous system began to settle

In the end, she didn’t need more willpower, her nervous system needed the right support for the body and the mind.
