If you’re here, welcome. 🤍

Reading these touches my heart. They are a genuine reflection of what becomes possible when someone is willing to turn within.

Just as the photo in my session space reflects: “The way out is in” (it’s the first thing you see when you come in)

For over a decade I’ve had the privilege of sitting with individuals and couples as they discover that the freedom they’ve been searching for has never been found by changing others and the world around them.

It begins with an inside-out approach.

By recognising the unconscious relationship we have with our thoughts, perceptions and emotional states, awareness naturally deepens.

From there, our relationship with them begins to change, revealing who we are beyond the Survival Mind.

Again and again, I’ve witnessed people realise that what felt so personal, so true and so fixed was an unconscious identification with the Survival Mind - the root of personal suffering and relational conflict. It’s where all the “problems’ come from.

As awareness grows, those patterns naturally begin to soften.

What once felt automatic no longer has the same hold.

Space opens.

Choice returns.

Presence deepens.

Love naturally expresses itself.

This is the heart of Self Enquiry.

Not becoming someone different. Not fixing yourself.

But recognising what has been getting in the way of the peace, authenticity and love that have always been here. It’s a removal, unlearning process ✨

Some people arrive here because they’re navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, grief, addiction, overwhelm or self-doubt. They get sick of themselves or their current predicament.

Others simply feel called to expand and deepen their meditation practice towards the nature of Self, live with greater awareness, or devote themselves more fully to Truth and Love beyond conditions...

Both are equally welcome.

If something in these reflections resonates with you, I’d love to connect.

If you’re willing to see judgement as an innocent attempt to control the behaviour of others in order to get your preferences met and protect yourself from feelings you don’t believe you can handle, you’re ready for peace.

Judgement is one of the Usual Suspects we regularly take to Enquiry.

What appears as criticism, blame, disappointment, resentment or frustration is often the Survival Mind attempting to manage life, people and outcomes so it doesn’t have to feel what it’s afraid of feeling.

At its core, judgment is a form of perpetration. It seeks power and control externally driven by the inside part within that feels powerless and out of control. Its the external reflection of ones internal state. (Victim turns into Perpetrator)

When I feel out of control, I’ll try to control you....

This is why judgement is such a significant barrier to love, intimacy and authentic connection.

If judgement isn’t addressed at the root, it becomes justified through unmet needs, preferences and stories about how others should be. The inferiority-superiority dance takes hold. It can subtly turn into control, correction, criticism or an unconscious attempt to change others.

And in doing so, it often activates one of the deepest wounds of the Survival Mind in the other which is ironically driving my behaviour:

“I’m not enough.”

Learning to recognise and disidentify from the mechanism of judgment towards yourself, towards others and towards what others think of you is profoundly liberating.

Not because you’ll stop having preferences, but because love is no longer conditional upon them being met or making others responsible for your internal state.

And not because judgement is ‘wrong’ (Don’t flip into the loop of judging others for judging, the turn around is right there😜)
