Have you ever noticed that when you start a diet, you don’t just feel hungry...You feel a little sad?

A little flat?
Maybe even deprived?

Most people think it’s because they’re “missing out” on food.

But what if it’s because they’re unknowingly removing one of their biggest sources of joy?

For many of us, food isn’t just fuel.
It’s celebration.
It’s connection.
It’s comfort.

It’s something to look forward to at the end of a hard day.
So if you suddenly take away all the foods that bring you joy, but don’t replace that joy with anything else... of course it’s going to feel hard.

Long-term weight loss isn’t just about eating differently.
It’s about living differently.

A question I often ask clients is:
“If food wasn’t your main source of joy today, what else could be?”

Maybe it’s a walk in the sunshine.
Calling a friend.
Reading a book.
Dancing in the kitchen.
Listening to music.
A bath.
Creating something.
Watching the sunset.

Create yourself a Joy List.
A list of things that genuinely fill your cup that have nothing to do with food.
Because sustainable change isn’t about removing joy from your life.
It’s about expanding where you find it. 💛

For years I thought I had to “fix” every part of myself.

Become less emotional.
Need less sleep.
Be more organised.
Be less affected by the weather.
Stop wanting change and adventure.

But the older I get, the more I realise there’s a difference between working on yourself… and constantly trying to change who you are.

Some things deserve growth.
Some things just deserve acceptance.

I can create systems because organisation isn’t my strength.
I know to protect my sleep because I don’t function without it.

I can laugh at how much sunshine affects my mood.
And I’ve stopped apologising for having a soft heart.

Self-awareness isn’t about becoming someone else.
Sometimes it’s simply knowing yourself well enough to work with who you are instead of spending your life fighting against it.

Now tell me… what’s one thing about yourself you’ve finally accepted? 😂👇

Have you ever wondered why dieting can feel like more than just giving up certain foods?

Why it can leave you feeling sad, deprived or like you’re missing out?

Maybe it’s because food has become one of the ways you experience love.

Think about it.

Celebrations revolve around food.
Family gatherings happen around the table.
Someone bakes your favourite cake for your birthday.
A friend brings you a meal when you’re struggling.
You celebrate success by going out for dinner.

Food isn’t just food.

It’s connection.
It’s comfort.
It’s tradition.
It’s love.

So when you decide to lose weight and immediately cut out all the foods you associate with those feelings, it can feel like you’re losing something much bigger than chocolate or pizza.

It’s worth getting curious.

What role has food been playing in my life?

Has it become one of the main ways I receive comfort, connection or love?

Because if the answer is yes, long-term change isn’t about forcing yourself to eat less.

It’s about expanding the ways you experience those feelings.

More connection.
More presence.
More affection.
More laughter.
More time with people who fill your cup.

The goal isn’t to remove love from your plate.

The goal is to create a life so rich in love and connection that food no longer has to carry the entire weight of meeting those needs.

This is the work that creates lasting change.

Not more willpower.

More self-awareness. 🤍

It’s one thing to think something and another to truly feel it.

We can know things intellectually, but until we embody that knowledge, we don’t really know it.

I hear people say all the time:
“I just need to eat less.”
“I just need to exercise more.”

And while that may be true, I always add:

…and bring some awareness to your behaviours.

Pause and get curious about what’s REALLY going on.

Why are you overeating?

Why can’t you find the motivation to exercise?

What need are you trying to meet?

Knowledge creates understanding. Awareness creates transformation.

When we bring heart awareness to our mind knowledge, we create the opportunity for real change.

Then we can take aligned, realistic action from a place of understanding rather than self-judgement. 🤘🏻

When it was all said and done, she realised that so much of what she thought mattered… didn’t.

The spotless house.
The endless to-do list.
The perfect outfit.
The achievement.

What mattered were the moments.

The laughter she didn’t rush through.
The sunsets she stopped to watch.
The people she loved.
The conversations she stayed present for.
The memories she created.

In the end, life was never asking her to do more.

It was asking her to be here.

10 weeks. Real support. Lasting change.

This isn’t another weight loss program that hands you a meal plan and hopes for the best.

Over 10 weeks, we’ll explore the emotional, behavioural and mindset patterns that keep women stuck in the cycle of starting over.

Inside The Mindset Method you’ll receive:

• 10 weekly coaching calls
• Weekly modules and resources to work through at your own pace
• 4 private 1:1 consultations tailored to your goals and challenges
• Ongoing support throughout the program

Together we’ll help you:

• Stop starting over
• Feel more in control around food without relying on willpower
• Quiet the food noise and constant mental battle around eating
• Understand why you keep repeating the same patterns and finally change them
• Break free from perfectionism, guilt and the restrict-then-overeat cycle
• Build trust in yourself and your ability to follow through
• Respond to stress, overwhelm and difficult emotions without automatically reaching for food
• Feel calmer, kinder and more compassionate towards yourself
• Create a way of eating that supports your goals without feeling deprived
• Develop a healthier relationship with food, your body and yourself
• Make changes that actually last
• Personalised nutrition foundations without rigid dieting

Because lasting weight loss isn’t just about knowing what to eat.

One part of you wants the weight loss goal.
Another part is exhausted from trying so hard all the time.

The perfectionist part often takes over for women around food, body image, and weight loss. She pushes harder, expects more, criticises louder… until eventually another part steps in seeking comfort, relief, or escape.

That’s often the part reaching for food.
Because different parts of you are trying to protect you in different ways.

This is the work we explore inside The Mindset Method for Weight loss. It’s based on parts therapy (similar to Resource Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Narrative therapy) it’s about understanding the voices, patterns, and emotional drivers that have been running the show beneath the surface.

It gives you a deeper understanding of yourself & strategies to help you reach your goals!

The feelings and the parts of you that you won’t listen to or feel will eventually create chaos within you 😂

Have you ever wondered why suddenly you’re:
• roaming the kitchen for “something”
• craving chocolate like it’s a medical emergency
• starting a new health plan every Monday
• emotionally attached to snacks you didn’t even want 10 minutes ago

What we resist persists.

Maybe instead of trying to “fix” yourself for the 47th time, you could just check in with what you really need and how you’re actually feeling.

Crazy concept, I know 🤪

Women will often say to me:

“If I could just lose the weight… then I’d finally feel happy.”
“Confident.”
“Comfortable.”
“Like myself again.”

And almost always, they think the thing standing in the way is:
more discipline,
more motivation,
more willpower.

But after 20 years of working as a nutritionist, I can tell you this:

What is really going on is usually much deeper than that.

Sometimes the woman trying to force herself onto another plan is actually exhausted.

Sometimes she needs rest, but keeps overriding it.

Sometimes she needs emotional support, boundaries, or space to breathe.

Sometimes she needs self-awareness around the patterns driving her behaviour with food.

Sometimes she needs self-compassion instead of another layer of pressure.

And yes, wanting to change your body composition is completely valid.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to lose weight, feel stronger, fitter, healthier, or more confident in your body.

But I have never seen long-term change created through constant punishment.

What I have seen work is different.

Softness.
Patience.
Consistency.
Honesty.
Learning your patterns.
Understanding your actual needs, not just your goals.

Because sustainable change usually happens when women stop trying to bully themselves into transformation…

And start learning how to support themselves through it.

The Mindset Method for Weight Loss is open now.
