YOUR PHYSIO CAN CLIMB! 🧗🏼‍♂️

Admittedly, I don’t get on the walls as much as I would like to… and I’m spending more time working with climbers than climbing myself.

So when I get the question, do you understand climbing? I know enough to get the privilege to help some of the best climbers in Australia.

Bring me your fancy climbing lingo 😅 and your pain problems and we can work it out together!

Please stop doing this 🙏🏼 I hear it far too often… people tell me they are afraid or sceptical of going to the Physio because they don’t want to stop doing their sport. Most good physios are looking for a way to keep you doing what you love as much as they can whilst keeping you safe. If your Physio isn’t doing these things, maybe you were right to be sceptical:

1. Taking the time to understand what is important to you not just how the injury came to be. Your whole rehab should be tailored around you and what your goals are. We need to know what sports you’re doing, how often your training, how are you train and what competitions are coming up.

2. Give yourself management strategies. These are typically things that they get you to do that help you with pain or getting through your next game, session or competition knowing that it’s not gonna solve your problem but allows you to keep competing in the meantime.

3. Takes the time to explain the difference between fixing your injury or managing it.

4. Explains what pain during exercise means for you for your safety profile and how to moderate your loads accordingly.

5. If you are ruled out from competition, they are still encouraging you to maintain your cardio and your strength training and giving you alternative options to get it done.

If you’re Physio isn’t doing this and you would like help with your pain problems, let me know.

Jaw clicking, pain, or locking? It could be TMJ dysfunction — and it’s not something to ignore.

Lockjaw ≠ normal. Early care can make a huge difference 🙌

We see this often, and the solution can be simpler than you might think — sometimes just a few targeted treatments can help.
