What began as a pioneering idea has transformed the way families can grow.

IVF research in Australia dates back to the 1970s, with Australian scientists making groundbreaking contributions to fertility treatment. Sydney’s first IVF pregnancy was achieved in 1982, an important milestone in the history of fertility care in NSW — followed by the birth of the state‘s first IVF baby in 1983.

Since then, IVF has continued to evolve through advances in embryology, freezing technology, genetic testing, and reproductive science.

In this episode, Tracy shares how to recognise your baby’s feeding cues—from early signs of hunger like rooting and hands-to-mouth movements, to the gentle signs that your baby has had enough.

✨ A few gentle reminders:
🚼 Responding to early feeding cues can help keep your baby calm and make feeding easier.
👩‍🍼 If your baby becomes distressed, try skin-to-skin contact, cuddling or gentle rocking before offering a feed.
🍼 Every baby communicates differently, and you’ll get to know their cues more each day.
Most importantly, trust yourself and trust your baby. You don’t have to get everything right from day one. 💖

👶 “Put the baby down... and cue the crying.” Sound familiar? If your hands are sore from endless rocking and you’re tired of the “bedtime batle”, this is for you.
Say hello to Responsive Settling-a gentle, supportive way to help your litle one learn to drift off to sleep without leaving themn to cry it out. It’s all about tuning into your baby’s unique rhythm and responding with love.

💡Quick tips to master the art of gentle settling:
· Catch the cues early: Don’t wait for a meltdown! Watch out for early tired signs like yawning, jerking movements, redeyebrows, or eye rubbing.
· 0-6 Months (Hands-on Comfort): Try settling them in their cot while keeping your hands on them, offering rhythmicpatting, or making a soft “shh” sound until they drift off.
· 6 Months+ (Comfort Settling): Create a calm bedtime routine, put them down awake, comfort them for a few minutesand then practice stepping out of the room as they learn to self-soothe.

Remember, every baby is different, andbuilding sleep skills takes time and consistency.
