The role of sound and music in the process of
growth, regeneration, healing and integration has
filled the human understanding with wonder and awe since ancient times. Facing today’s world of tremendous inner, social and global challenges, it is not surprising that this has been coming to the fore
again. Rediscovered and revived it now finds now
expression in manifold innovative applications of
vibrational, energetic and consciousness based new disciplines of light and sound healing, reconnecting archaic practices, sacred science traditions and the latest quantum field approaches.

As we move closer to the New Year, growing, flowing and evolving, let us shift shores with music heralding fresh beginnings and enigmatic experiences.
Contemplative listening and creative expression can support the growing individual in his/her unfoldment and integrative movement towards centred, harmonious well-being.
The power of sound, rightly employed,
can transform personality, and change old conditioning in creative ways. It is a rewarding experience to witness how sound itself can be the guide, leading the explorer along the path of self discovery.

Add the Power of Sound to your Baby Plan!

The circumstances surrounding the times before, during and immediately after birth can influence the way we grow up physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Sound therapy can prove to be very effective as a tool for both birth preparation and postpartum due to its deeply relaxing effect on the nervous system.

Having restorative treatments such as acoustic meditation during such delicate time can help future mums to prepare for such a profound event. The soothing effect of our instruments can be of precious help in promoting feelings of safety and confidence. Acoustic Meditation further helps with the development of the babies brain and deepening of the connection between mom and baby.
A 60-minute session can alleviate stress while letting muscles relax, renewing and leaving you feeling content, clear, minded, energetic and optimistic.

Sonia is a mother of a beautiful, healthy and joyful baby girl. The experience of having given birth has allowed her the opportunity to practice many different pain-relieving and centering techniques she had learnt during her sound meditation. By the time she gave birth to her daughter, she had come to realize that sound therapy during the birthing process was an extremely effective method for relieving pain and calming herself.

Sound Well-being:

Harmony is the key for personal, social and environmental well-being. The direct tactile impact of the sound vibrations creates a deep state of relaxation and clear sense of overall harmonization. The aim and natural result of a sound session is to support the receiving person into a Nidra/Alpha state of deepened awareness, which brings refreshing rest, naturally stimulating homeostatic, self healing capacities and offers the opportunity of balancing the system through a shift and realignment of the different planes and parts of the being.

Check out our beautiful space via our website and book in for a restorative sound session with Sonia, the founder of Sound Wellness.

Sound Experience - Enter the inner realms of a sound life.

Music has always held the highest place amongst the arts, was sacred and revered as a gift from, and a gateway to higher realms of existence. The ultimate role of music was and is to achieve the highest human potential through a synthesis of liberation and enlightenment, and enjoyment and the delight of embodied existence.

A Sound Experience creates an atmosphere and dedicated space of listening, tuning, aligning & coming into resonance with the universal principles of order & harmony. Fostering & strengthening personal resilience & a dynamically balanced wellbeing. Its main benefits are to remedy and transform the increasing detrimental symptoms of stress and crises and to harness inherent powers for growth, creativity and effectiveness.

At Sound Wellness we offer a diverse range of Sound Experiences from first surprise exposures to deep therapeutic processes and invite you to browse our treatment list.

Listening to the sound of silence

At Sound Wellness we offer you the opportunity to step back from routine life into the space of reflection and contemplation. Opening into the flow of the vibrational dimension of our existence; letting go, releasing the often rigid limitation of our mental, emotional and physical patterns and structures, spreading our being on the vast waves of sound.

A rainstick is an instrument that sounds like rainfall. “Rain” in a rainstick consists of many small pebbles, seeds, sand, or the like. These are contained in a vessel that has spikes or sticks pierced through for the “rain” to fall and strike when flipped upside down. All of those little impacts add up to a wash of sound that is soothing and emulates rainfall.

You can now enjoy 20 minutes of sustained rain with four million organically grown amaranth seeds descend down the wooden spiral. Its sound is the premiere choice as a relaxation aid given its soft, soothing noise and extra long duration.

At Sound Wellness we use nature sounds, such as the one of rain, to create an acoustical meditation experience - relocating the listener into a deeply relaxed state where the person feels there are no longer inside the room.

When things fall apart…

… we have the opportunity to practice acceptance.

We do not have to consider this process an obstacle or a problem. Obstacles can become our teachers. What we call obstacles are really the way the world and our entire experience teach us where we’re stuck.
What may appear to be an arrow or a sword we can actually experience as flower. Whether we experience what happens to us as obstacle and enemy or as teacher and friends really depends entirely on our perception of reality.
It depends on our relationship with ourselves.

This is when meditation helps to work through emotionally charged thoughts by letting them pass in the periphery of our mind, while we repeat a meditation sound and thereby create a free mental attitude.
Periods where the mind wandered through thoughts and emotions regarding present and past life experiences were intermingled with more silent moments where the mind became quiet although awake and present.

If we keep our attention focused on the present, we can be sure of one thing, namely that whatever we are attending to in this moment will change, giving us the opportunity to practice accepting whatever it is that will emerge in the next moment. Clearly, there is wisdom in cultivating acceptance.

In 1984, E.O. Wilson, biologist and Harvard professor, published Biophilia, in which he theorized that humans have an innate desire to connect with nature. That hypothesis has since been taken further and research indicates that human well-being is supported by access to nature. Many of the benefits attributed to connecting with nature sound like those attributed to meditation: lower blood pressure, reduced depression, reduction in ruminating thought….

This week we turn to the practice of Mindfulness of Sounds – using sounds to anchor us to present moment, to remind us of the ever-changing nature of life, and to help us witness how our reaction to stimuli often has a greater effect on our sense of well-being than the stimuli itself.

A great way to tune in to sounds, especially in the summer, is to sit outside and soak in the sounds of morning birds, children playing, evening crickets, the rustle of wind in the trees, or rain drops on the sidewalk….

So this week, why not spend a little time each day combining the health benefits of nature with those of mindfulness as you sit outside and tune in to the sounds around you?

It's very important that we re-learn the art of resting and relaxing. Not only does it help prevent the onset of many illnesses that develop through chronic tension and worrying; it allows us to clear our minds, focus, and find creative solutions to problems. We will be more successful in all our endeavours if we can let go of the habit of running all the time, and take little pauses to relax and re-center ourselves. And we'll also have a lot more joy in living.

Silence heals

People try to get away from it all...You wish you could too…you can get away anytime you like…. By going within. Marcus Aurelius

John Beaulieu, a leader in the field of sound, began his career in an anechoic chamber. After calming his mind, he tuned into the sound of his breath, heart and eventually the hum of his nervous system. This revelation was the source of his life’s work.

In sound therapy we believe that every moment of our life and every action is in harmony with the Universal Energy Field. Abraham Maslow, called it ‘cognition of being in the peak experiences’, others, being ‘in the flow’.

The starting point is silence.

The anagram of silent is ‘listen’. And the first step in meditation is withdrawing the senses and coming to a still point. Here your soul is at peace with your thoughts. Here wisdom awaits. BD Schiers Silence has much to say and is a source of great strength. Rumi and Lao Tsu

Try listening to the sounds around you one at a time until you listen to your own breath and heart to see for yourself that Silence is the sleep that nourishes wisdom. Francis Bacon

Prenatal acoustic learning:

Children navigate the world of sound and acquire their first auditory experiences as early as in prenatal life. This develops their sensitivity and memory, resulting in a readiness to process auditory information, which lays the foundation for later development of musical aptitude as well as for language learning.

As the fetus grows and their sense of hearing develops, they will be able to distinguish an increasing number of different sounds - the noise of flowing blood, intestinal and gastric activity, heartbeat and breathing, as well as the sound of the mother’s steps and, most importantly, her voice.

The main process responsible for the development of this sensitivity is the maturation of the central nervous system, determined by genetic factors and supported by the presence of auditory impressions originating from the external environment.

Early prenatal listening experiences as well as musical stimulation and the mother’s voice have a strong effect on the development of baby’s brain architecture, which provides the foundation for all future learning, behaviour, and health.

We are very excited to announce working on pre-natal sound sessions for every prospective mother as well as in-person classes to enhance the newborn’s life since music has such a profound effect on the life of the child in the womb.
