Tight, painful muscles limiting your movement? Dry needling may be one useful tool in your physiotherapy plan.
Dry needling uses fine, sterile filament needles inserted into tight muscle trigger points. This can help release tension and reduce pain.
It is commonly used alongside physiotherapy for:
✅ Persistent muscle tightness and trigger points
✅ Neck and shoulder tension
✅ Back pain and headaches
✅ Sports and overuse injuries
Dry needling is not the same as acupuncture. It is based on muscle and trigger point anatomy, rather than traditional Chinese medicine.
It is generally well tolerated. Some people experience short-lived muscle soreness or an occasional small bruise afterwards. It is not suitable for everyone, so we always complete an assessment and screening first.
Dry needling is not a standalone fix. We use it alongside assessment, hands-on treatment, exercise and load management to support your recovery.
