Did you know that for boys, praise is a huge factor in self worth and self esteem and aids in motivation?

💙 ‘A gentle reminder that men and little boys alike need praise, support and encouragement too.You handled that really well” → signals competence

💙 ‘I respect how you think about things” → signals status and value

💙 “You’re someone people can rely on” → signals role and importance

These forms of recognition can:
• Increase perceived social standing
• Reduce cortisol (stress response)
• Support serotonin release and regulation

Which then feeds into:

→ greater calm confidence
→ improved decision-making
→ more assertive (but not aggressive) behaviour

Don’t forget the words we use with children feed into their sense of self.
This goes for both genders but biologically it’s super important for boys to feel valued and praised for their effort, kindness and considerate acts.

Having polished content is nice BUT I know the real reason you’re not posting is because it doesn’t feel safe to be seen.

Not feeling safe to be seen is a total inside job - and when you don’t feel safe, it’s like content comstipation and it’s ruining your business.

I know, because I went through it.

If you aren’t posting regularly, your business won’t be moving and growing. I sometimes go through phases with my consistency because sometimes I’m busy with clients and forget to post, but for the first 2 years of my business I was afraid to put my face online in the form of videos.

Now I find it easier to slap together a video or reel with something that pops into my head than a polished carousel - and that’s because when I realised my inner world (my subconscious fear) of not being understood properly - YES that was MY block- was blocking me.

So I got a colleague to help me by doing RTT therapy on it, and then the floodgates opened and it finally felt easy.

Confidence in real life is like that too - if you don’t feel safe you won’t do it. You won’t:
🩷 speak up in meetings
🩷 you won’t ask for the opportunity
🩷you won’t ask for the raise
🩷 close the sale
🩷 give the presentation

Sometimes life is full.

For me October was chocka block.
School holidays, work commitments, moving house and some illness thrown in for good measure. 🫠😆

And the things i had planned to work hard on got side tracked.

An unexpected move,
a change of career direction,
an unexpected opportunity that wasn’t part of the plan.

Things go off course sometimes… and it’s important to monitor how your body registers these unexpected changes. For some people this will trigger massive stress responses, anxiety, overwhelm and burnout.

Normally for me, exercise is the one constant that keeps me grounded.

The non negotiable, the anchor in the stormy weather - but lately even exercise was tough to squeeze in.

And I felt it, the stress, the stagnancy, the tension build.

My excuse was that I didn’t have time but today I knew just had to squeeze it in where possible. And that meant a 6am walk on a Sunday morning today in amongst other commitments.

This is my reminder to you that managing your mind, is of equal importance to managing your body.

Movement is essential.
We are water.
Stagnant water putrefies.

We need to move, our body is designed to move - it helps shift toxins, our lymphatic system, our digestive system, builds strength.

Mental health is physical health.
If you’re wanting success, movement is non negotiable.

Building business, managing change, facing large challenges requires tenacity, flexibility and endurance.

If your body can’t cope, your mind won’t either.
