With so many changes happening in the NDIS, it’s easy to feel unsure about what to do next.

That’s where Support Coordination can help.

It’s about:

• Understanding your plan
• Connecting you with the right providers
• Making sure your supports are working together
• Helping you stay on track with your goals

You don’t have to figure everything out on your own.

You might have noticed longer wait times for some NDIS supports.

There’s a reason for that.

Demand for services continues to grow, but there aren’t always enough practitioners to meet that demand.

This is especially true for:

• Behaviour Support Practitioners
• Psychologists
• Allied health professionals

While this can be frustrating, planning ahead and having the right support team can make a big difference.

Behaviour Support plays an important role in the NDIS, especially for participants experiencing behaviours of concern.

The focus is on:

• Understanding the “why” behind behaviours
• Building safe, positive strategies
• Reducing restrictive practices
• Supporting long-term wellbeing

Every person is different, which is why Behaviour Support should always be individualised and evidence-based.

You may have heard about changes to how NDIS plans are created.

A new planning framework is being introduced, with some delays, as part of broader improvements to the system.

The goal is to:

• Create more consistent plans
• Better align supports with participant needs
• Ensure long-term sustainability of the NDIS

While things are still evolving, one thing remains the same... your supports should always reflect your goals and needs.

If your plan feels unclear or different, you’re not alone. We’re here to help you understand it.

What are “duplicate supports” in the NDIS?

It’s when two or more services are doing very similar things.

With recent changes, the NDIS is looking more closely at this, and may not fund overlapping supports.

That’s why it’s important that:

• Each provider has a clear role
• Supports work together, not against each other
• Your plan is structured in a way that makes sense

Good collaboration leads to better outcomes, and helps make sure your supports are approved and effective.

The NDIS is shifting its focus.

From:
“How many hours of support are you getting?”

To:
“What outcomes are you achieving?”

This means supports are now expected to:

• Build independence
• Develop skills
• Improve daily functioning
• Create long-term positive change

It’s not just about receiving support, it’s about what that support is helping you achieve.

Reports are becoming more important than ever in the NDIS.

They’re not just paperwork... they help tell your story.

A strong report can:

• Show your progress
• Explain your support needs
• Link your supports to your goals
• Support funding decisions in your plan

Without clear evidence, it can be harder to justify supports.

That’s why working with providers who understand how to document and communicate outcomes is so important.

This National Volunteer Week, we recognise the people who give their time to support others 🤝

Volunteers play an important role in building stronger, more inclusive communities.

Your kindness, time, and effort make a real difference... and it doesn’t go unnoticed.

Thank you for everything you do 💛

Are therapy supports still funded under the NDIS?

Yes, therapies like psychology, behaviour support, and music therapy are still funded.

What’s changed is how they’re assessed.

Supports now need to:

• Clearly link to your NDIS goals
• Show how they improve your functional capacity
• Avoid duplication with other services

In some cases, additional evidence or reports may be required to support funding decisions.

If you’re unsure how your therapy fits within your plan, we’re here to help you make sense of it.
