Global Day of Parents 💜

Global Day of Parents acknowledges all parents for their "selfless commitment to children and their lifelong sacrifice towards nurturing their relationship." Well done to all the amazing parents on the hard work they do every day.

Every day isn’t always joyful but hopefully we can grab glimmers of joy in between the chaos of this crazy parenting journey 🫶

In respect of Food Allergy Awareness Week 24th – 30th May 2026 - Did you know the allergy advice for babies has been updated?

The ASCIA (Australian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy) is Australia’s top authority when it comes to allergies. Their research is up to date and is the most credible resource we have as guidance. There are 5 main changes.

1) Introduce peanut and egg early (around 6 months). Early introduction can reduce allergy to these foods.
2) 2) Offer these foods regularly
3) Redness around the mouth in isolation of any other allergy symptoms, may not be an allergic reaction. Try foods again and observe.
4) Alternative milks to cows milk formula, show insufficient evidence of reducing allergies.
5) For healthy breastfed babies, formula use in the first week isn’t recommended unless medically indicated.

World Hypertension Day 2026. This years theme is "Controlling Hypertension Together!"

WHD promotes increased awareness of high blood pressure and accuracy in blood pressure measurement.

Some women experience high blood pressure in pregnancy which is is a serious, yet manageable condition affecting roughly 30,000 women annually in Australia. It is typically defined as a blood pressure reading of 140/90 mmHg or higher and requires close medical supervision to protect both the mother and the baby.

The exact causes are not known. If you had high blood pressure or a condition called preeclampsia during pregnancy, you are at higher risk of heart disease and stroke. Talk to your doctor about managing your risk at your next visit.
