Even coaches are human.

Laundry on the ironing board. Baskets that seem to refill themselves.

. . . and sometimes, it feels like a fine, wispy cloud moves through the mind . . . not loud, just present . . . the early shape of overwhelm, the edge of anxiety softening the sky.

I've learned not to override that.
Because not every moment is meant for output.

I know I'm designed for rhythm, for depth, for seeing clearly when I'm not pushing through the fog.
So . . . I don't push clarity
I return to it gently

A client session when I'm resourced
A Human Design chart when I feel called
A difffuser blend that shifts the energy.
Sunlight on my skin, barefeet on the grass
A few pages of a book that has nothing to do with productivity
Nothing rushed.

Small, ordinary things that bring the sky back into view

Not to escape life . . . but to meet it more softly.

I love sitting outside . . . regardless of the temperature

But winter deserves a little fire pit

The warmth
The crackling of the wood
The dancing flames

Interesting perspective . . . anxiety is about carrying too much . . . where your mind splits between fears, responsibilities, uncertainties and "trying" to hold it all together.

What do you think of this perspective?

Winter has a way of speaking to the nervous system without words.

One of the things I love about winter is
slipping into bed on a cold night
layers of warmth building around me
the body receiving the message
"I'm safe"

That steady weight, that held feeling
can soften anxiety
and remind the nervous system
there is nothing to resist

Safety isn't always a thought
sometimes it's a sensation

If this resonates, share it with someone who needs a gentle reminder today.

Did you know . . .

Humming . . . have you ever tried focusing on the anxiety you're feeling or the thoughts swirling round your brain while humming?
It's like they've disappeared.
Not because the thoughts are forced away . . . but because your body gets a totally different signal . . . your body is focused on the humming.

There's a nerve in your body (the vagus nerve) that runs through your voice box. It helps control things like stress levels, heart rate, and your body's ability to shift into calm.

When you hum, the vibration gently sstimulates this nerve and helps signal your system to move toward a more settled state.

This is backed up by a 2025 pilot study, which found humming was linked with increased activity in the 'rest and restore' part of the nervous system . . . meaning the body was measurably shifting towards calm.

. . . .and this isn't new . . . for thousands of years, monks and spiritual traditions have used humming, chanting and simple tones to settle the mind and body. Science is only now starting to look at the biology behind it.

Sooo . . . instead of trying to think or talk your way out of anxiety and the swirling thoughts . . . maybe start something physical . . .

A hum
A long exhale

A small signal to your body that things are safe enough to soften.
. . and if you're not in the mood for music . . . simply hum . . . make it up (like I did in this video).

Give it a go.
Let me know what happens.

Ooft . . .

I'm so grateful for my kinesiologist.

Today's appointment was a powerful reminder that sometimes there may be a physical reason behind what you experience emotionally or mentally.

I've been noticing increased inflammation, feeling like my body was falling apart . . . and then the anger, irritability and frustration last week . . . and what about those dark circles under my eyes?

It's easy to assume all of this is stress, mindset, emotions or life circumstances.
Sometimes it is . . . and sometimes there may be something physical happening that deserves attention too.

One of the things I love about taking a holistic approach is remembering to look at the whole picture.

Mind.
Body.
Emotions.
Environment.
Lifestyle.

They're all connected.

If you've been feeling "off," it may be worth becoming curious about what your body is trying to tell you.

Not every emotion is purely emotional.

Sometimes there's more to the story.

If you've been feeling "off", perhaps it's time to become curious about what your body might be communicating.

Side note . . . I'll be using my emotional essential oils tonight . . . to allow my mind to process all the emotions that were worked through today . . . without waking my body.

💜 Have you ever discovered a physical factor that was influencing how you were feeling emotionally?

Please like, comment or share if this resonated with you.

Gosh I look silly . . . but I really don’t care.
Why?
Because this helps my nervous system reset.

Friday afternoon I received a phone call that left me feeling:

Angry
Disillusioned
Hopeless
Dismissed

My body went into red alert
Restless
Heavy
Exhausted

I took it out on someone dear to me . . . then noticed what I had done, acknowledged it, apologised and changed my behaviour . . . without condemning myself.
Just awareness, responsibility and repair.

I let that phone call’s conversation swirl around in my head for hours.
My mind continually looping, replaying it, wondering how I could have communicated more effectively.

It impacted my sleep . . . until a different perspective arrived (thank you mindset shift retraining).

The conversation looping stopped
The swirling stopped
My mind calmed . . . and I finally slept.

But my body was still holding it
I had forgotten to use one of my nervous system regulation tools.

A few nights later, I woke sometime during the night . . and there it was again . . .
The conversation
The replay
The mental loop

But this time I remembered

So here it is . . .

Shaking my hands
Bouncing up and down
Moving the energy through . . . and out of my body instead of holding it in.

Yes, it looks ridiculous to anyone watching
But within seconds, my nervous system settled.
My body received the message that the event was over.

The conversation hadn’t changed
The circumstances hadn’t changed.

But my internal experience had.

And yes, even coaches have moments where thoughts swirl and emotions run deep.
We may still experience deep emotions and swirling thoughts, shaped by our unique Human Design . . . the difference is . . . learning how to work with our own wiring, rather than be overwhelmed by it, or run by them.

The difference isn’t perfection.
It’s having the tools available that support us to move through those moments . . . practicing them on a daily basis, even during the good moments, so when something like this arises, it’s second nature and we don’t get stuck in it.

For that, I am deeply grateful.

What helps you reset when your mind starts replaying something on repeat?
I’d love to hear what works for you.

If this resonated, feel free to like, comment or share it either way someone who might need the reminder that nervous system support matters.

You were never meant to run on empty

Just like this pond runs low on water . . .
because life keeps drawing from it . . . my cat, the heat (during summer) . . . and when the sun hits the solar panel, the fountain rises high . . . causing the water to spill outside of the pond, lowering the water level.

You are the same . . . and anxiety can work like that too.

A system running low . . .
then suddenly over-responding, overthinking, overgiving . . .
trying to keep everything moving, keep everyone else okay.

You pour into everyone else first.
Running low on energy, low on self-nourishment, low on receiving yourself.

So I topped up the water.

Because you matter in the refill too.
Your nervous system was never meant to stay in depletion
And you deserve to feel steady, resourced and held . . .
and to offer yourself the same love you give others so freely to others.

Just in case you've forgotten . . . words you deserve to hear (that you don't tell yourself enough)

You matter
You are exactly enough
Trust yourself
You are worth fighting for
You are not defined by your mistakes (opportunities for learning)
You are allowed to rest
You've got what it takes
You are not your past
Your dreams are valid
Your future is beyond belief
