Emotional Maturity
It’s not a skill you learn quickly… there are many layers to emotional maturity. They unravel like the layers of an onion.
If you are keen to deepen your ability to be with emotions of all kinds, here are my current top three tips.
1. Learn to pause before reacting
2. Stop making others responsible for your emotional state
3. Build the capacity to be with discomfort
All three are interrelated and need time and practice to become more proficient at them.
It’s important to remember that every now and then we will fail at them. Take responsibility for the failure and use it to learn.
Emotional maturity is a non-negotiable for being able to life in your own authority and in inner freedom.
