❌ MYTH vs βœ”οΈ FACT

"You should stay in a dark room for weeks after a concussion"
☝🏼 ❌ MYTH!

βœ”οΈ FACT: Complete isolation for long periods is no longer recommended for most people.

You can find low-stimulating, healthier ways to support your brain while it heals, like a gentle walk outdoors or reading a physical book.

1️⃣ Headache gets worse
2️⃣ Eyes feel tired
3️⃣ Difficulty focusing
4️⃣ Increased dizziness
5️⃣ Feeling mentally drained
6️⃣ Irritability increased

🧠 WHAT IS CTE?

Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) is a neurodegenerative disease caused by repeated head trauma.

It is marked by the build-up of an abnormal protein called 'tau' in the brain, which interferes with normal brain function.

Over time, this can lead to symptoms such as:
➑️ Memory loss
➑️ Mood changes
➑️ Impaired judgment
➑️ Dementia

Unlike a single concussion, CTE arises from repeated trauma, posing a serious risk to individuals involved in high-impact sports or professions.
