What is lanolin, really? Let's clear it up. 🐑

It's the hero of our classic green jar — but a lot of people aren't sure what lanolin actually is, or where it comes from. Here's the honest version.

Lanolin is a natural wax that wool-bearing sheep produce in their fleece to protect it from wind and rain — much like the sebum your own skin makes to protect itself.

From fleece to jar:
🐑 Sheep are shorn for their wool (they're not harmed — the wool grows back each year, making lanolin a renewable by-product of the wool industry)

Here's the story of how G&M's Lanolin goes from paddock to bathroom shelf.

🐑 What is Lanolin?
Lanolin is the natural oil secreted from the sebaceous glands of wool-bearing animals — it coats the wool fibres and protects the sheep's skin from cold, rain, and UV. In essence, it's nature's most effective moisture barrier, evolved over millions of years. When wool is processed, Lanolin is recovered as a pure by-product.
