This World Arthritis Day, we’re recognising that staying active means something different to everyone.

A regular walk. A round of golf. Keeping up with the grandchildren.

If foot or ankle arthritis is affecting your activities, tell your clinician which movements and routines matter most to you. Those goals can help guide the discussion about suitable care.

Cesar sees active adults as well as competitive athletes. Contact the clinic on (02) 9451 9432 to discuss a foot or lower limb concern and the activities you would like to maintain.

A sports injury can disrupt a lot more than the weekend game. It can mean missed training, changed routines and plenty of questions about what happens next.

Our latest article looks at where MLS Laser Therapy may fit into a sports injury care plan, including what parents of young athletes should ask before treatment.
We cover suitability, what the research can tell us and why rehabilitation and return-to-sport decisions still matter.

Thinking about laser therapy for a sports injury? Before starting, it helps to ask:

• Is it appropriate for my injury?
• What would we aim to improve?
• What are the alternatives and relevant precautions?
• How would we decide whether to continue?

Cesar offers MLS Laser Therapy where clinically appropriate, with recommendations based on the person and their presentation.

Whether your goal is a weekend run or returning to regular training, the first step is a conversation about your injury and your options.

Longer days and warmer weather make spring a great time to get outside and move more. 🌿

If you're increasing your walking after a less active winter, a few simple considerations can help make the transition more comfortable:

👟 Wear footwear suited to your activity
📈 Increase distance and intensity gradually
🦶 Pay attention to new or persistent discomfort
🏃 Allow appropriate recovery between bigger activity days

Most importantly, listen to what your body is telling you. If foot or lower-limb pain persists or begins limiting your activity, an assessment can help determine what's going on.

Enjoy everything the Northern Beaches has to offer this Spring.

Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) can affect the nerves in the hands and feet, with symptoms such as tingling, numbness, altered sensation and discomfort.

MLS® Laser Therapy is one treatment approach that may be used to help manage symptoms associated with peripheral neuropathy as part of supportive cancer care.

In this reel, Cesar demonstrates MLS® Laser Therapy being applied to the feet as part of the management of chemotherapy-related peripheral neuropathy.

Cesar is an OncoLaser Partner and has undertaken education in the use of laser therapy within supportive cancer care and rehabilitation. At Belrose Frenchs Forest Podiatry Centre, MLS® Laser Therapy is considered within an individualised treatment plan based on each patient's presentation, medical history and broader healthcare needs.

Treatment suitability and response can vary between individuals, and coordination with the patient's treating healthcare team may also form an important part of care.

If you are experiencing changes or discomfort in your feet during or following cancer treatment, contact Belrose Frenchs Forest Podiatry Centre to discuss whether MLS® Laser Therapy may be appropriate for you.

Continuing education is an important part of providing informed, considered healthcare.

Cesar is an OncoLaser Partner and has undertaken education in the use of photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) within supportive cancer care and rehabilitation.

This area of education explores applications of PBMT in relation to treatment-related symptoms such as pain, inflammation and lymphoedema.

Supportive care is highly individual, and appropriate clinical assessment and communication with a patient's broader healthcare team remain important when considering treatment.

Cesar's involvement with OncoLaser forms part of his broader commitment to ongoing professional development and understanding the evolving clinical applications of photobiomodulation.

Weekend sport, running, training and outdoor activity often start ramping up as the weather gets warmer. 🏃‍♂️

And after a quieter winter, increasing training volume too quickly can sometimes contribute to foot and lower-limb problems.

If pain appears when you return to sport, consider how quickly your training has increased and whether your footwear is still appropriate for the activity.

Persistent pain, swelling or a change in function is also worth having assessed rather than simply trying to train through it.

Cesar works with patients across a range of sporting and activity-related presentations, with management tailored to the injury, the individual and their goals.

Here's to an active spring on the Northern Beaches!

Arthritis and persistent joint pain can make everyday tasks increasingly uncomfortable.

In this reel, Cesar demonstrates the use of laser therapy for a patient experiencing arthritis-related hand pain, using the MLS® M8 robotic system alongside M-HI laser technology.

Photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) may be considered as part of an individual pain management and rehabilitation plan, depending on the patient, their symptoms and clinical assessment.

At Belrose Frenchs Forest Podiatry Centre, Cesar continues to explore evidence-informed applications of laser technology across a range of musculoskeletal presentations.

Treatment suitability and outcomes vary between individuals, and an assessment is important to determine an appropriate approach.
