in our group meetings, we’ve been chatting about what we’ve been doing (and not doing) during this lockdown.
some of us are baking, others have taken up knitting, rekindled their love for painting. one of my girlfriends is making candles. and others have not had the time or inclination to do any of these things…and for various reasons - home schooling, workloads - or for no reason at all.
there is no rule book for navigating a pandemic. there’s no right or wrong way to live through one.
it’s an absolute cliche (and I’m still going to say it) life can only be lived one day at a time, moment by moment.
we tend to think of ourselves as static but like nature, we flux and we flow indefinitely
what we can do is to learn to be discerning, mindful and conscious - choose what we engage with and what we don’t engage with.
ask ourselves - is this opening me up or closing me down?
* if you have a meditation practice, now is the time to get practising consistently.
* and if you don’t, engage in breathing exercises, intentionally every day - even if it’s only 5 minutes.
* spend time in Nature every day, with movement to support opening the body.
* eat and drink what enlivens your system.
* choose to spend time with people who are uplifting and expansive, not constraining or overwhelming.
* be discerning with the information flows you allow yourself access to. choose quality over quantity.
stay safe and well, and be kind (especially to yourself). xK
