The Oral Medicine Academy of Australasia is the peak body representing Oral Medicine Specialists and the field of Oral Medicine, and is the authoritative adviser and policy maker on matters related to education, training, assessment and accreditation in Oral Medicine. Oral Medicine is that specialist branch of dentistry concerned with the diagnosis, prevention and predominantly non-surgical management of medically-related disorders and conditions affecting the oral and maxillofacial region, in particular oral mucosal disease and orofacial pain, as well as the oral health care of medically complex patients.

Yesterday’s Oral Medicine Academy of Australasia AGM in Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺

Highlights:

🎖️Congratulations to Professor Michael McCullough on life membership to the Academy! Congratulations too to A/Profs Ajith Polonowita and Norman Firth 😊

🤩 Congratulations and welcome to the new Executive: President Dr Ben Karim, President elect A/Prof Tami Yap, Treasurer Dr Katrusha Hull, Secretary Dr Amanda Phoon Nguyen, and executive officers Dr Suma Sukumar and Dr Simon Guan. Special thanks to A/Prof Sue Ching Yeoh who has finished up her presidency and will serve as the immediate past president, and A/Prof Ramesh Balasubramaniam who was the immediate past president, for his over decade long service to the Academy.

And finally, special congratulations to the Fellows of the Academy who received their certificates yesterday. Present in person were Drs Vidya Iyer, Stephanie Rose, and Asef Anwar.
