Day 2: Movement. And today also happens to be World Physiotherapy Day.
The version of “being active” that works is the one you’ll actually do. Not the one that feels like punishment, or the one that only counts if it’s an hour long, or the one that only happens when you’re not tired.
Fittingly, this year’s World Physiotherapy Day theme is cardiovascular disease and stroke prevention, management, and rehabilitation - a reminder of how far movement as medicine really reaches. Physios play an active role in helping people recover from stroke, manage heart disease, and build the physical capacity that protects long-term health.
At SWSM, we work with women to find movement that fits their life; chronic conditions, injury history, post-natal, low energy, never exercised before. It all starts with where you are, not where you think you should be. Our Physiotherapy team supports that same philosophy across the community, working with everyone from athletes to those managing chronic disease, surgical recovery, and complex rehab.
Your body is worth moving. On your terms.
