Community connections were at the heart of last week’s Randwick ClubGRANTS presentation.

Our CEO, Johanna Pitman, caught up with Randwick Councillor Carolyn Martin, a passionate swimmer and supporter of Rainbow Club. We look forward to seeing her again at the next Malabar Magic in February 2027!

The event also brought together local organisations supporting young people with a disability. Johanna connected with Peter Dunne from Little Heros Swim Academy and Randa and Richard from Autism MATES, creating a valuable opportunity to share ideas and learn more about each other’s work.

Thank you to Maroubra Seals and The Juniors Maroubra for bringing local charities and community organisations together.

🎉 Double finalist recognition for Orange Rainbow Club!

We’re incredibly proud to share that Orange Rainbow Club has been named a finalist in the 2026 Business Orange Awards for Excellence in Diversity & Inclusion.

And there’s even more to celebrate, with Lead Teacher Graham Strudwick also named a finalist for Outstanding Business Leader (21 Employees & Over).

This recognition reflects the incredible commitment of the entire Orange Rainbow Club team to creating an inclusive community where children and young people with a disability can participate, learn and thrive.

Congratulations Graham, and everyone at Orange Rainbow Club. We’ll be cheering you on at the awards in September! 🌈👏

A great spotlight on Rainbow Club from our friends at BayFit and Laverton in Victoria. 🌈💙

Rainbow Club has been delivering specialised swimming and water safety programs at both BlueFit-managed centres for the past three years, giving more local children and young people with a disability the opportunity to learn, participate and enjoy the water.

We love seeing our local clubs, teachers and members celebrated, and partnerships like this helping make aquatic centres more inclusive and accessible for families.

Thanks to the teams at BayFit and Laverton for sharing our story and supporting Rainbow Club in your communities.

What makes Rainbow Club different? 🌈

Sometimes it's what happens behind the scenes.

Our Accessibility Support Officer, Erin, works with families, teachers, allied health professionals and our wider team to help develop individual support strategies for members who need them.

With experience spanning swim teaching, behaviour support and psychology, Erin helps turn specialist knowledge into practical support that can be used where it matters: in the pool.

It's another layer of expertise behind our teachers and our members.

Meet Erin and discover more about the support behind a Rainbow Club lesson 👇

Our CEO Johanna Pitman recently attended the DSC Annual NDIS Conference, joining conversations about the changing disability landscape and what it means for participants, families and providers.

Johanna shares some of her key takeaways, including the importance of listening to participants, supporting our teachers through change, strengthening partnerships and continuing to advocate for the role swimming and water safety can play in the lives of children and young people with a disability.

As the NDIS continues to evolve, these conversations are more important than ever. 🌈

💚 Connecting our families with support

Yesterday, The Ponds Rainbow Club welcomed Carer Gateway, giving parents and carers the opportunity to hear first-hand about the free services and support available to them.

Our Regional Manager Alison said it was a great morning with “so much connection and learning”.

Thank you to Carer Gateway for joining us. We look forward to bringing these visits to more Rainbow Club communities over the coming months.
