What makes Rainbow Club different? 🌈

The play that helps a swimming skill click. The encouragement to try again. The chance to share what you’ve learnt with others.

Our teachers use games, imagination and each child’s interests to make swimming and water safety skills part of activities they enjoy. With time and the right support, those weekly lessons can lead to moments that mean so much to a swimmer and their family.

Rainbow Carnival is a chance to celebrate that progress, try something new and make friends along the way.

Our community puts it into words. 💚

Thank you to Bondi Icebergs and Carer Gateway for helping make Rainbow Carnival possible, and to Swimming NSW and Beau Matthews for encouraging our swimmers and sharing their passion for the sport. You helped make the day even more memorable for our members and families.

A big thank you to Deputy Mayor Hollie McLean for visiting our new Nepean Rainbow Club and taking the time to meet our members, families and teachers!

We’re especially grateful to Nepean Aquatic Centre and Eva Borys for their incredible support in helping us establish Rainbow Club in the local community. Their genuine commitment to inclusion and making swimming accessible to young people with a disability has made this partnership possible.

With their generosity and a fantastic facility that gives us room to grow, we’re looking forward to welcoming many more Penrith families in the years ahead.

A special thank you to Julie and the team at Nepean Aquatic Centre for embracing Rainbow Club and recognising the importance of providing specialised swimming lessons for local families.

It’s wonderful to hear such positive feedback from families already enjoying the new club, and to see our dedicated teachers receiving the recognition they deserve.

Thank you for the warm welcome, Nepean! 💚🌈

I loved visiting Rainbow Club Australia at their new Penrith location today. Rainbow Club offer swimming lessons for children and young adults with disability, and thanks to Nepean Aquatic Centre Penrith they are now offering classes for Penrith kids!

Parents told me how grateful they are they can now access suitable and supportive lessons locally, and it was obvious how much the kids were enjoying it! Talking to the teachers and staff it was clear how dedicated and caring they are.

Welcome to Penrith!

🌈 What makes Rainbow Club different?

Learning to swim involves managing a lot at once: the feel of the water, noise around the pool, instructions and unfamiliar movements. For some members, these can take as much effort as the swimming skill itself.

Our teachers get to know each member’s sensory and communication needs and adapt their lessons around them. They build in sensory breaks when needed and use adaptive tools and aids to help members understand and practise swimming skills.

They also recognise that behaviour is a form of communication. What looks like disruption can be a member expressing discomfort, uncertainty or sensory overload. Our teachers look for those signals and adjust the activity, communication or pace of the lesson to support the swimmer.

If this sounds like the kind of support your child could benefit from, we’d love to welcome you to Rainbow Club. Places have recently become available at some of our clubs.

What a day at Rainbow Carnival 2026! 🌈

The weather gave us a few challenges, but it didn’t dampen the spirit of our members. From the novelty events and swim races to the relays, Active Moves display and activities on the field, it was wonderful to see families from NSW, VIC and QLD come together.

Thank you to every member and family who joined us, especially those who travelled to Sydney. A huge thank you to our teachers, staff, volunteers and Pymble Ladies College student volunteers for everything you did throughout the day.

We’re grateful to our sponsors Carer Gateway and Bondi Icebergs and to Pymble Ladies College, Swimming NSW, Para Swimming, Beau Matthews, Autism Swim, our stallholders and everyone who helped make the Carnival possible. Thank you as well to Mike for guiding us through the day and Zoe for capturing it.

Congratulations to all our winners and swimmers and a big shout out to our new Ron Siddon's Sheild winner - Seven Hills!

Here are a few photos to enjoy now. We’ll share the full album and race results over the next few days! 📸

Our new Vincentia club got a mention in Federal Parliament! 💚

After joining families and teachers for the club’s launch, Fiona Phillips MP spoke about the inclusive swimming lessons now available at Bay and Basin Leisure Centre. She also gave a shout-out to the local swimmers preparing to take part in our Rainbow Carnival.

Thank you, Fiona, for celebrating the young people, families and teachers who have made Vincentia Rainbow Club such a welcoming place.

🏊‍♀️ Could your swimmer take on a 25m or 50m race at Rainbow Carnival? 🌈

For many of our members, Rainbow Carnival is a special opportunity to experience the excitement of a swim race, with plenty of support around them and a big crowd cheering them on. 💚

You don’t need to be the fastest or an experienced racer. It’s about having a go, doing your personal best, having fun and being part of the day.

🌈 Swimmers race with others of a similar age and ability
🥇🥈🥉 Every heat awards 1st, 2nd and 3rd ribbons
🏊 Plenty of Rainbow Club teachers provide in-water support
💚 Swimmers can start however they feel most comfortable
👏 Every swimmer gets the chance to experience Carnival racing

If your swimmer can complete 25m or 50m, we really encourage you to give them the opportunity to have a go. They might just surprise themselves!

⏰ REGISTRATIONS CLOSE TOMORROW AT 5PM, MONDAY 21 SEPTEMBER.

There are no registrations on Carnival Day, so this is your last chance to enter.

For Acacia and her mum, Catherine, Rainbow Club has become about much more than learning to swim. 💙

With the support of her teacher Samantha at Muswellbrook Rainbow Club, Acacia has strengthened her swimming skills, grown in confidence and recently competed in her first school swimming carnival.

For some members, taking part in a carnival may once have felt out of reach. With the encouragement of our wonderful teachers, they can develop the skills and confidence to participate within their local communities and at our all-inclusive Rainbow Carnival.

Connecting, chatting and learning at Merrylands Rainbow Club 💚

It was great to have Tracey from Carer Gateway visit Marrylands, alongside our new Sydney Metro Regional Manager, Kyle.

Our members and families showed plenty of interest in the support available through Carer Gateway, with some valuable conversations throughout the visit.

A big thank you to Tracey and all our Merrylands teachers for making everyone feel so welcome! 🌈
