Based at Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Dr Loopy has spent the past nine years bringing cheeky humour, music and playful mischief to patients, families and staff alike. With a guitarelele in hand and a knack for unexpected surprises (and the occasional perfectly timed silly sound), Dr Loopy uses improvisation and connection to turn everyday moments into laughter, lightness and joy 🩷

For Dr Loopy, the most rewarding moments come from seeing how laughter and play can transform even the toughest days; a child’s eyes lighting up, a family sharing a moment of joy, or a memory sparked through a simple, silly exchange. It’s in these small, deeply human moments of connection, comfort and relief that the work truly matters, reminding us that joy and resilience can exist side by side.

Using humour, play and a little mischief, Dr Loopy brings smiles and makes a meaningful difference, even in challenging times ✨

Yesterday’s Unite 4 Kids luncheon was filled with heart and raised an incredible $289,516.

As one of the lucky beneficiaries, alongside Starlight Children's Foundation Australia and the Childhood Cancer Association, we are so grateful for the generosity from a community so deeply committed to making a difference for children and families facing serious illness.

These vital funds ensure we are able to continue our Clown Doctors program at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Flinders Medical Centre, helping to transform the hospital experience for more than 27,000 children, families and healthcare staff each year.

A special thank you to Ben and Kim Mead, and their daughter Holly. Their courage and strength continue to inspire and have shaped the lasting impact of this event.

And to Dr Bananas and Dr B-Grrk, thank you for sharing your joy and representing with such warmth and wit 😝🤡

Last weekend, our Clown Doctors had a fantastic time being part of the annual Humpty Dumpty Foundation Balmoral Burn cheer squad! Dr Stinky and Dr Splash spent the day cheering on the runners and celebrating our shared goal of giving every child and parent the best possible hospital experience, with holistic care that heals hearts and spirits.

A huge shoutout to all the runners, cheerers, volunteers and community who brought the energy (and the sweat)! What a day! 🏃‍♂️💨🏃‍♀️💕

We’re delighted to welcome Dr Big and Dr TipToe as the newest graduates of the Royal College of Clowns, and now fully fledged Clown Doctors in our Perth team 🎉

Every Clown Doctor’s journey begins with a rigorous audition, followed by our Clownternship - an immersive training program involving 50+ hospital rounds. Along the way, Dr Big and Dr TipToe have been guided by the expertise of Drs D***y, Hat, Goose and Ta Dah.

Our Clown Doctors are highly trained professionals who bring creativity, empathy and a deep understanding of healthcare settings into every interaction, supporting patients, families and staff through moments of uncertainty with care, connection and joy.

With the support of Hyundai Help for Kids, Dr Big and Dr TipToe will also receive their very own customised red noses through the Clown Nose Project 🔴a meaningful milestone that marks their transition into the wards as Clown Doctors.

Congratulations Dr Big and Dr TipToe. We’re so excited to have you in Perth 🙌

It’s the final day of , so this massive shout out goes to Craig Denby 🩷

Craig has been supporting Clown Doctors Australia for 20 year, from the Roadside Appeal to our recent Pickle for a Giggle, there’s not much this man can’t do!

When asked why he keeps coming back, Craig said:

To see the joy, laughter and smiles that the Clown Doctors bring to a child's face and their families is priceless.”

Dr Hat is a highly trained and experienced performer, specialised in Puppet Theatre. During her career, she has performed in, directed, and created work for festivals and audiences around the world. Since joining our Perth Clown Doctor Team in 2001, Dr Hat has brought her love and craft of creating make believe, play and connection to the hospital wards, delighting children, families and staff with imagination, skill and plenty of heart ✨

As a Clown Doctor, she’s invited into intimate, sensitive spaces. For Dr Hat, reading the room and responding authentically in the moment sit at the heart of connection. With every visit unpredictable, and every moment fleeting and unique, it’s the shared smiles and laughter that make the work so meaningful 🥰

Clown Doctors Australia is on the hunt for a new performer to join our Alice Springs Clown Doctor Team at Alice Springs Hospital.

Our Clown Doctors cover a variety of situations; from teaming up with clinicians to distract children during painful procedures, to visiting children receiving treatment for ongoing medical conditions, and brightening the stay of children recovering from surgery or illness.

This is meaningful, playful work alongside healthcare teams, supporting children and families through laughter, empathy and presence.

Clown Doctors require a unique set of skills. If this sounds like you, please apply!

🎭 Have strong clowning and improvisation skills
💛 Bring warmth, sensitivity and emotional intelligence
🧒 Are great with children and young people (0–18 years). Able to build trust, follow their lead and centre the child
🤝 Work well in pairs and within a wider hospital team
🎶 Have skills in music, movement or physical theatre (highly regarded)
✨ Are imaginative, playful and funny

This is a paid contractor role.
