What an amazing ten years it has been - the Jane and Lucy show - aka Total Diabetes Care. Jane hangs up her stethoscope today, although she has been persuaded to do some limited consulting for us from later in the year.

Automated insulin delivery systems don’t make type 1 diabetes disappear, but they can dramatically reduce the mental burden of living with it.

Unfortunately, fewer than one in four Australians living with type 1 diabetes currently have access to this life-changing technology.

A huge thank you to the DANII Foundation for inviting me to speak at this year’s ball and for shining a spotlight on this important issue. Funds raised will help provide grants to people who simply cannot afford these systems, while also supporting advocacy for government funding.

Investing in this technology is not only the right thing to do—it’s a cost-effective investment in health, wellbeing, and quality of life for Australians living with type 1 diabetes.

So proud to have been invited to share Angelo’s special day, celebrating his achievement of living with diabetes for 60 years. He is truly inspirational. He has even embraced new diabetes technology at the age of 88! His family adore him, as do I. ❤️
